Formulations incorporating thermoplastic microspheres therein. A method is disclosed herein, including the step of combining a quantity of amorphous nanosilica with a quantity of thermoplastic microspheres having a gas encapsulated therein to produce an additive product. The method can further include the step of combining a quantity of dry cement, a first quantity of water, and a quantity of sand and/or aggregate and mixing the same until they are fully wetted or nearly fully wetted, forming a mixed and wetted combined product. The method can further include the step of mixing the additive product with the mixed and wetted combined product to form a concrete mixture.
In various embodiments, a process is described for the preparation of a concrete mixture in a Ready-mix or for an installation. A quantity of amorphous silica is added with an average particle size in the range of from about 1 to about 55 nanometers and/or wherein the surface area of the particles of the amorphous silica is in the range of from about 50 to about 900 m2/g. The amorphous silica may be added in colloidal form or otherwise, and is added at a particular stage to ensure efficacy.

In an embodiment of the disclosed principles, a process is provided for the treatment of aggregate to yield a treated aggregate product usable in the production of concrete for construction. In general, without affecting the specificity of the claims, the process entails combining an aggregate, such as a recycled aggregate, with an H-CS-C solution and mixing the combination to yield the treated aggregate product.
