Abstract

A method for conditioning a hard gelatin capsule (50) having any moisture content to a dry and non-brittle state when packed for at least one week in a cavity (45) of a blister base (40) closed by a lid film (35) comprising an aluminium foil, wherein the hard gelatin capsule (50) is a hard starch capsule manufactured from collagen and the hard gelatin capsule (50) contains pharmaceuticals and wherein the dry state of the hard gelatin capsule (50) means a relative humidity of less than 50% at room temperature and the non-brittle state means that the hard gelatin capsule (50) does not break when pressed out of the cavity (45) of the blister base (40) through the lid film (35). The lid film (35) and/or the blister base (40) comprise/s a moisture-regulating buffer layer (20) with a predefined humidity. The moisture-regulating buffer layer (20) consists of a polymer or polymer mixture containing 1 to 60 wt. % of an absorber material which is either a hygroscopic salt, a silica gel or a zeolite or a mixture of any of said absorber materials, wherein the absorber material buffers the humidity in the space within the cavity (45) surrounding the hard gelatin capsule (50) to lie in a range between 10 and 50% r.h.

Methods and systems for simultaneously forming and filling a container from a preform with fluid, adjusting a fill point of the fluid, and removing air and/or foam from within the container. One of the methods includes injecting fluid from a fill source into the preform through a nozzle passage defined between the nozzle and a seal pin of the forming and filling system to simultaneously form the container from the preform and fill the container. Abstract

A child resistant closure for use on a container that include an inner closure member having a threaded portion and an inclined surface, and an outer closure member coupled to the inner closure member for axial translation therebetween. A series of engagement features extend between the inner and outer closure to permit selective engagement of the outer closure to the inner closure to effect removal of the child resistant closure. The outer closure includes at least one finger spring member being inwardly directed and contacting the inclined surface of the inner closure member, thereby biasing the outer closure member into an operationally disengaged position. A child and bite resistant package having a tray and a plurality of spaced apart cavities that are formed therein is provided. A sheet material overlies the tray such that a product disposed in a cavity is enclosed and sealed therein. Abstract

A container has a finish, a sidewall portion, a shoulder portion extending between the finish and the sidewall portion, and a base portion extending from the sidewall portion and enclosing the sidewall portion to form a volume therein for retaining a commodity. The sidewall portion includes a label boundary panel and a vacuum panel. The label boundary panel is generally resistant to deflection in response to a vacuum force and defining a surface for receiving a pressure sensitive spot label. The vacuum panel is deflectable in response to the vacuum force. Moreover, the container includes one or more inwardly-directed ribs extending along the label boundary panel and bound thereby. The inwardly-directed rib(s) generally aid(s) the label boundary panel to resist the vacuum force.

Abstract

A system for simultaneously forming and filling a container comprising a mold having a mold cavity defining an internal surface and adapted to accept a preform, a pressure source urging a first liquid toward the preform, means for maintaining a desired saturation of gas in solution in the first liquid, and a blow nozzle adapted to receive the first liquid from the pressure source and transfer the first liquid at a pressure into the preform thereby urging the preform to expand toward the internal surface of the mold cavity and create a resultant container, wherein the first liquid remains within the container as an end product.
