Abstract

There is provided a tire pressure monitoring device, which measures temperature and pressure in the inside of a tire during vehicular traveling and informs a driver of tire abnormality. The tire pressure monitoring device includes: a transmitter portion inserted into one or more of vehicular tires for sensing tire status and then transmitting tire status data signal; and a receiver portion for receiving the tire status data signal from the transmitter portion. The receiver portion is integrated into a wheel speed sensor module of an ABS device, which is mounted to a wheel bearing. Since the receiver portion of the tire pressure monitoring device and a wheel speed sensor of the ABS device are integrated into one module, the transmitter portion and the receiver portion of the tire pressure monitoring device can be installed very closely to each other without greatly modifying a vehicular body design.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a wheel bearing assembly including a hub coupled to a wheel of a vehicle and provided with a flange extending radially, an inner race formed at an exterior surface thereof, and a step portion formed at an inside of the inner race, an exterior diameter of the step portion being smaller than that of the inner race; an inner ring inserted on the step portion of the hub and having an inner race formed at an exterior surface thereof; an outer ring having outer races formed at an interior surface thereof and corresponding to the inner races; a plurality of outside rolling elements disposed between the inner race and the outer race; a plurality of inside rolling elements disposed between the inner race and the outer race; and a cage maintaining a circumferential gap between the rolling elements, wherein the diameter of the outside rolling element is smaller than that of the inside rolling element. According to the present invention, the life of the wheel bearing assembly may not be decreased, and hardness of the wheel bearing assembly may be enhanced such that tremor of a brake apparatus connected to a flange is reduced. In addition, a decrease in the life of the outside row may be minimized and the hardness may be sharply enhanced by selecting a threshold range of the life of the bearing and the hardness in accordance with the diameter of the rolling element. Since the exterior diameter of an outside outer ring can be the same as that of an inside outer ring, interference between the outer ring and other components may be minimized.

Abstract

Disclosed is an encoder-integrated seal 140 mounted on a bearing including a rotary ring, a stationary ring, and a plurality of rolling elements disposed between the rotary ring and the stationary ring, to be located in an opening formed between the rotary ring and the stationary ring to face the rolling elements. The seal 140 includes: a seal support 141 having a first cylindrical portion 141a inserted into the stationary ring; a slinger 147 having a second cylindrical portion 147a inserted into the rotary ring and a radial portion 147b extending from the second cylindrical portion 147a in the radial direction; an elastic part 143 attached to the seal support 141 or the slinger 147; one or more one seal lips 135a, 135b and/or 135c extending from the elastic part 143 and contacting one side of the slinger 147 or the seal support 141; an encoder 140 provided at the radial portion 147b of the slinger 147; and at least one protrusion 150 projected in the radial direction of the slinger 147 toward the first cylindrical portion 141a of the seal support 141. The protrusion 150 rotates along with the bearing 100 to generate a turbulent flow, thereby preventing adhesion of impurities to the seal. Also, a flow is generated in a direction away from the seal lips by the protrusion to block infiltration of impurities through the seal 140.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of measuring a clearance of a hub bearing for vehicles. A hub is fixed to a lower jig when a row of hub-side balls is disposed and an outer ring is disposed on an outer periphery of the hub and a row of inner ring-side balls and an inner ring are disposed. A press-fit jig is contacted to the inner ring and a load of less than 5kgf is applied to an outer surface of the outer ring to prevent its vibration and movement. A gauge is installed to a portion of the outer ring. The inner ring is gradually press-fitted by the jig. An amount of press-fit of the inner ring is measured from when the gauge begins to move when press-fitting of the inner ring is completed. The amount of clearance is simply measured.

Abstract

A disc and wheel bearing assembly of a driven wheel includes: a hub type brake disc integrally formed with a hub and a brake disc made of cast iron; a wheel bearing assembly comprising rolling elements, at least one inner ring installed in the rolling elements, a bearing inner ring shaft having a rolling shoulder portion on its one end and a spline portion on its other end, and an outer ring; a knuckle connected to the wheel bearing assembly; and a driving shaft having a spline portion and a male thread formed on its ends, wherein the male thread of the driving shaft is combined with the disc and wheel bearing assembly assembled to the knuckle by a nut and thereby, an axial force is given to the wheel bearing assembly so as to pre-load the wheel bearing assembly. The disc and wheel bearing assembly of a driven wheel constructed as above can simplify the structure of an axle assembly; thereby reduce weight and cost, by removing a hub function of a conventional axle assembly, giving a portion of the function to an inner ring shaft portion and disc and integrating the disc and a bearing.
