Abstract

The method for spraying thermoplastic powders provides to feed a flow of compressed air and/or nitrogen and a liquefied petroleum gas through respective separated discharge chambers (9, 12), shaped inside a mixing device (1) of a spray gun (100), the separated discharge chambers (9, 12) being in communication with a mixing chamber (15). Then a flame is ignited at the mixing chamber, through a flame ignition device (30) connected with the gun (100), said device comprising a spark ignition device (31, 310), and a conductor element (32) associated with the mixing device (1) and connected with the spark ignition device (31, 310). The thermoplastic powders are mixed with a transport inert gas, and fed through a further discharge chamber (7) communicating with the mixing chamber (15). Then the spray gun is operated to spray the thermoplastic powders through the flame onto the surface of the article to be coated, to cause the melting of the same powders.

Abstract

The method for flame spraying thermoplastic powders provides to heat the article to be coated at a suitable working temperature and to feed the said thermoplastic powders, transported by an inert gas, a flow of compressed air and a flow of liquefied petroleum gas through respective separated discharge chambers (7, 9, 12), shaped inside a mixing device (1) of a spray gun. The thermoplastic powders are then projected, in a resulting flow (30), on the heated surface of the article to be coated, to determine the melting of the same powders at their contact with said heated surface. At least one couple of flows (31, 32) of compressed air is sprayed converging towards the resulting flow (30) flowing out of the mixing device (1), giving the resulting flow (30) a substantially flattened fan shape.

Abstract

The air gun comprises a substantially cylindrical-shaped external case (2), provided at one end with a connection element (8) suitable to enable the connection of the air gun (1) with a device for supplying a fluid to be sprayed, and provided at the opposite end with an expulsion device (10) suitable to enable the outlet of the fluid to be sprayed towards the outside. Inside the case (2) is arranged a vortex generator device (9) provided with a plurality of internal walls (91 ) having curvilinear profiles. The walls (91 ) define a plurality of separated helical pipes (93), in order to give the fluid to be sprayed a helical rotatory motion.

Abstract

The claimed valve, here illustrated in a longitudinal section and while the sandblasting machine is working, substantially consists of a body (1) that, being suited to the fastening of the nozzle (3) on which to fix the flexible rubber hose carrying the spray gun on its opposite end, is entirely longitudinally crossed by a mixing chamber having the inlet (4) of the compressed air in a first area with larger diameter (2A) and the inlet (5) of the abrasive particles in a second area (2B), coaxial to the first one. Inside the said chamber (2A, 2B) there is the cut-off (6) composed of two coaxial parts (6A) and (6B) with different diameter, being the first (6A) constrained to the said mechanical or pneumatic means suited to the closing movement and the second one (6B), with smaller diameter, to the first one through a connecting pin (7) serving as spring-holder for the cylindrical coil spring (8) serving to reciprocally space the said two parts (6A) and (6B) of the cut-off in closure position.

Abstract

Inside a container body (1) are arranged the tank-compartment (1A) for the material to be contained and the duct (1B) through which the coming compressed air flows, both to pass directly in the tank-compartment (1A) and to flow further towards the mixing valve (15), suitable for mixing the compressed air and the material.
