Abstract
An antenna for a microwave device for tissue ablation includes a metal cannula inside which there are arranged an external conductor and an internal conductor of the antenna, between which a layer of electrically insulating material is interposed, and a penetrating tip connected to the antenna. The antenna further includes a reinforcing element connected to a distal end of the cannula, the penetrating tip being connected to a distal end of the reinforcing element.

Abstract

A microwave device for the ablation of biological tissues including a coaxial antenna, including an internal conductor, surrounded by a layer of dielectric material, an external conductor coaxial to the dielectric metal tip electrically connected to the internal conductor, and a quarter wave impedance transformer including a sleeve made of dielectric material having a proximal end covered with a layer of metal, the metal extending over nearly a quarter wavelength of electromagnetic field in the dielectric at the operating frequency of the device or of odd multiples of the quarter wavelength, the layer of metal material being connected electrically to the external conductor.

A microwave device (10; 100) for the ablation of biological tissues comprising a coaxial antenna (11), said coaxial antenna (1 1) comprising an internal conductor (13), surrounded by a layer of dielectric material, a external conductor (12) that is externally coaxial to said layer of dielectric material, a metal tip for penetrating tissues (14) that is connected electrically to said internal conductor (13), a quarter wave impedance transformer (16; 116) ending in a short circuit; the impedance transformer (16; 116) comprises a sleeve (15; 115) made of dielectric material having a proximal end covered with a layer of metal material (16a; 116a) obtained by depositing said metal material on the surface of said dielectric material, said layer of metal material extending over a length near a quarter of wavelength of the electromagnetic field in the dielectric material at the operating frequency of the device (10; 100) or of odd multiples of said quarter of wavelength, said layer of metal material being connected electrically to said external conductor (12); the microwave device (10; 100) further comprises a metal cannula (19) inserted above said sleeve (15; 115), said metal cannula being connected to said layer of metal material (16a; 116a) by gluing, brazing, welding or mechanical interference.

Abstract
A device for transcutaneous biopsy includes a casing consisting of a first half shell and a second half shell that are fixable to one another. Inside the casing there is defined a chamber into which slides a slide element to which a first cannula and a second cannula are connected. The second cannula is inserted inside the first cannula, both of them having a common longitudinal axis. The first cannula is provided with a locking element. The locking element, which is suitable for interacting with the second cannula, is provided with a pair of notches interacting with a pair of lamina elements with which the second cannula is provided.
