Abstract
To provide a seam of attractive appearance in which tightening force is increased and raveling are prevented drastically. A seam (1) is formed by two needles (11, 12) juxtaposed in the direction at substantially right angles to the sewing direction (T), and consists of a chain seam (10) formed by a needle thread (12) passed through one needle (11), and a lock seam (20) formed by a needle thread (22) passed through the other needle (21). The loop (13) of a needle thread forming the chain seam (10) is passed through the loop (23) of a needle thread forming the lock seam (20) before tightening of stitch is performed, and a loop of the needle thread forming the chain seam located on a downstream side in the sewing direction is passed through the loop of the needle thread forming the upstream chain seam.

Abstract
Disclosed is an illumination band that lights light-emitting elements at night and, even when the light-emitting elements go out, receives light from external sources and makes the entire surface of the band body bright to notify third parties of the wearer's position and presence. An illumination band (1) is composed of a long and thin strip-shaped band body (2), light-emitting elements (11) arranged at predetermined intervals on the surface (2a) of the band body (2), and a conductive part provided on the band body (2) and connected to each light-emitting element (11). The surface (2a) of the band body (2) is provided with a fluorescent member, a reflective member, or a noctilucent (phosphorescent) member.

Abstract
Provided is a sewing machine that can perform zigzag sewing on a cylindrical sewn article. Sewing machine (1) comprises an approximately cylindrical guide member (11) that guides sewn article (A), a sewing needle (99) that sews the cylindrical sewn article (A), a holding member (71) that holds the sewing needle (99) approximately vertically, a vertical hook (21) provided in the guide member (11) so that the direction of rotation is approximately perpendicular to the axial direction (C) of the guide member (11) and that catches the thread loop of the sewing needle (99), a rotary shaft (22) that rotates the vertical hook (21), and an operating means (50) that moves the holding member (71) and the rotary shaft (22) reciprocatingly at approximately the same time.

Abstract
Disclosed is a seam forming apparatus which can perform fine adjustment of the width of a seam from zero by simple manual operation. The seam forming apparatus (1) comprises a needle clamp member (2) provided at the lower portion of a needle bar (52), and two needles (3, 4) secured to the needle clamp member (2). The needle clamp member (2) comprises a fixing member (11) fixed to the needle bar (52), and a rotating member (21) which is rotatably provided on the fixing member (11) and to which the two needles (3, 4) are secured. The rotating member (21) so rotates as to change the positions of the two needles (3, 4), whereby the width of a seam formed by the two needles (3, 4) can be adjusted.

Abstract
[PROBLEMS] To provide a seam of attractive appearance in which tightening force is increased and slackening and raveling are prevented drastically. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A seam (1) is formed by two needles (11, 21) juxtaposed in the direction at substantially right angles to the sewing direction (T), and consists of a chain seam (10) formed by a needle thread (12) passed through one needle (11), and a lock seam (20) formed by a needle thread (22) passed through the other needle (21). The loop (13) of a needle thread forming the chain seam (10) is passed through the loop (23) of a needle thread forming the lock seam (20) before tightening of stitch is performed, and further passed through the loop (13) of a thread forming the chain seam (10) located on the downstream side in the sewing direction (T).
