Abstract

A connector assembly for providing electrical connection from an electrical device ground wire to a vehicle chassis ground comprises a wire connector, a cable, and a surface connector. The wire connector is configured to receive the electrical device ground wire. The cable is electrically connected to the ground wire. The surface connector is coupled to the cable and configured to attach to a vehicle chassis. The surface connector includes a conductive disc, an outer insulating ring, and an inner insulating ring. The conductive disc is electrically connected to the cable and includes a central opening configured to receive a fastener which attaches the surface connector to the chassis. The inner insulating ring, a portion of the lower surface of the conductive disc, and the outer insulating ring form a hermetically sealed chamber with the chassis when the surface connector is attached to the chassis.

Abstract

A modular tailgate light for a vehicle having an auxiliary lighting plug, the modular tailgate light broadly including a left section, a right section, a middle section, and a power connector. The left section, the right section, and the middle section each include a set of red lights and a set of white lights. The red lights of the middle section include left red lights and right red lights. The modular tailgate light can be used in a small vehicle configuration in which the left and right sections are connected together with the middle section omitted and a large vehicle configuration in which the middle section is connected between the left and right sections. In the large vehicle configuration, the left red lights activate identically to the red lights of the left section and the right red lights activate identically to the red lights of the right section.

Abstract

A steering wheel cover has an inner core and an outer casing. The inner core has a tubular body portion and a pair of spaced-apart spines. The tubular body portion and spines together define an open-ended hollow channel that can be placed over a vehicle steering wheel via a gap between the spines. The inner core also has a plurality of crush ribs extending inwardly from an inner surface of the body portion. The crush ribs allow the inner core to be easily placed over multiple different sized steering wheels without slipping or otherwise moving on the steering wheel.

Abstract

An air freshener includes a housing; scented beads contained within the housing; and a mounting clip for attaching the housing to a source of pressurized air. The housing has several air flow slots or openings and is rotatably coupled to the mounting clip so it can be rotated relative to the mounting clip and the air source to which it is attached to provide several “levels” of fragrance, including a “burst” of fragrance achieved by manually rotating the housing relative to the mounting clip to tumble and stir the scented beads in the housing.

Abstract

A fluid funnel includes an open-topped mouth for receiving DEF or other liquids from a jug or other source; an elongated hollow stem depending from the mouth for directing the fluids from the mouth into a DEF tank or other fluid receptacle; and a tapered throat that joins the mouth and stem. The funnel more effectively direct fluids into a tank, even when the funnel is tilted; inhibits fluids from backing-up into the mouth and/or spilling out of the funnel; prevents displaced air from bubbling up through fluids in the mouth; and more firmly engages and seats within a tank port.

Abstract

An air pressure gauge includes a tubular housing having opposed first and secondends and a hollow passageway therebetween; a coupler on the first end of the tubular housing for coupling with an object inflated with pressurized air; a bushing positioned in the second end of the housing; a piston positioned in the housing and moveable in the passageway between the coupler and the bushing; a compression spring positioned between the piston and the bushing for resisting movement of the piston toward the bushing; and a calibrated rod with pressure markings positioned in the hollow passageway and moveable partially through the bushing by the piston. The bushing has a stem that extends at least ¼" from the second end of the tubular housing and that includes a transparent viewing window with an indicator line. Because the stem extends beyond the housing and has a transparent viewing window, the pressure markings on the calibrated rod are not obscured by the bushing and can be read through the viewing window.

Abstract

An auxiliary vehicle lighting system is provided for use in a vehicle having an engine and an electrical system. The auxiliary vehicle lighting system has at least one auxiliary vehicle light; a control hub, connected to the vehicle electrical system and to each auxiliary vehicle light; and a system shut down function or program, connected to the control hub and configured to de-energize the auxiliary lighting system. The control hub is constructed and arranged so that upon illumination of the auxiliary vehicle lights and with the engine turned off, the vehicle battery voltage is monitored. If the battery voltage reaches a designated low voltage target, the system shut down function or program is activated, which de-energizes the auxiliary lights.

Abstract

Embodiments of the invention provide a device and method for controlling sway of a trailer utilizing a global positioning system (GPS) device to detect a speed of a vehicle, a rate gyro to detect a sway angle of the vehicle, and a controller coupled to the GPS device and the rate gyro. The GPS and the rate gyro provide the speed and the sway angle to the controller and the controller outputs a brake command if either a first condition is satisfied or a second condition is satisfied.

Abstract

An air freshener including a pair of opposed legs extending in spaced relation to one another such that a space is defined therebetween that is adequate for attaching the air freshener to the louver of an air vent in an automobile with the two legs straddling in contacting relation thereto. The air freshener further includes a scent absorbing material and a scented core. The scent absorbing material is positioned distally from the scented core so that the air passing through the air vents and over the air freshener is first exposed to the odor absorber to eliminate at least a portion of the odor present in the air stream prior to the air passing over the scented core which disperse fragrance into the automobile's cabin.

Abstract

An attachment clip assembly for securing a splash guard to an edge of a vehicle panel. The attachment clip assembly includes inner and outer clips and a threaded fastener. The inner clip includes wedging and gripping arms and the outer clip includes wedging and support arms, the inner clip fitting in nested relationship in the outer clip. The threaded fastener extends through an opening of the inner clip and a slotted opening of the outer clip. The wedging arm of the outer clip includes spaced apart shoulders overlying respective outer edges of the wedging arm of the inner clip such that, upon tightening the threaded fastener, the wedging arm of the inner clip slides along the wedging arm of the outer clip in a direction toward a central portion of the outer clip thereby moving the inner clip gripping arm toward the outer clip support arm.
