Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for the recovery of vanadium from a vanadium containing leach residue, the method comprising the steps of: subjecting the leach residue to a pulping step, the pulping step comprising the contact of the leach residue with an aqueous solution to produce a repulp slurry; passing the repulp slurry to a solid liquid separation step to produce a repulp solution containing vanadium and a repulp residue; and recovering vanadium from solution in an ion exchange step.

Abstract

A method for the recovery of vanadium from a vanadium containing feed stream, the method comprises: subjecting the vanadium containing feed stream to an acid leach step to form a slurry including a pregnant leach solution that comprises dissolved vanadium and a solid residue; passing the product of the leach step to a solid/liquid separation step to produce a pregnant leach solution that comprises dissolved vanadium; contacting the pregnant leach solution with a reducing agent to reduce one or more species in the pregnant leach solution; passing the pregnant leach solution to a precipitation step in which the solution pH is increased to precipitate a vanadium product; and recovering the vanadium product from the solution.

The present invention relates to a method for the extraction and recovery of titanium products from a feedstock comprising titanomagnetite species, the method comprising the steps of: i. subjecting the feedstock to a primary leach step comprising the acid leaching of the feedstock to extract iron into solution; ii. passing the product of the leach step (i) to a solid/liquid separation step; iii. passing the solid product of separation step (ii) to a secondary leach step comprising the acid leaching of the solid product to extract titanium into solution; iv. passing the product of the leach step (iii) to a solid/liquid separation step; v. passing the liquid product of separation step (iv) to a TiO2 precipitation step; and vi. passing the product of the TiO2 precipitation step to a solid/liquid separation step to recover a TiO2 product.
