Abstract

Provided are the preparation and use of a high temperature resistant electrothermal fiber. The method comprises: step 1: preparing an insulating fiber material; step 2: subjecting the fiber material to a surface coating treatment, wherein the coated film layer comprises a material from the catalytic pyrolysis of a carbon source; step 3: placing the coated fiber material in a vacuum reaction chamber; step 4: introducing an inert gas and H2 into the vacuum reaction chamber, and introducing the carbon source after the gas flow is stable to grow microcrystalline graphite; and step 5: cooling the fiber material in the atmosphere of the inert gas and H2, so as to obtain the high temperature resistant electrothermal fiber.

Abstract

Provided in the present invention is a high-temperature-resistant electrothermal fiber, the high-temperature-resistant electrothermal fiber comprising a fiber inner core and a microcrystalline graphite layer coated outside of the fiber inner core, wherein the fiber inner core employs high-temperature-resistant fiber. The microcrystalline graphite layer is deposited on the surface of the fiber inner core by means of a chemical vapor deposition method, and the thickness of the microcrystalline graphite layer is preferably smaller than 10 micrometers. Compared to carbon fiber electrothermal materials, the toughness and air permeability of the electrothermal fiber according to the present invention may not only be increased due to an intermediate fiber filament and the structure in which the outer side of the intermediate fiber filament is coated with microcrystalline graphite, but the thermal radiation area thereof may also be improved, thereby further improving the thermal conversion efficiency and achieving nearly 100% electrothermal conversion efficiency.
