Abstract
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for a measuring system for a cutting apparatus. The cutting apparatus includes a housing defining an operating cavity, with a cutting wheel arranged in the operating cavity. A measuring system is configured to measure a change in diameter of the cutting wheel, the measuring system including one or more marks corresponding to a size of the cutting wheel. In examples, the diameter changes from a first diameter to a second diameter during operation of the cutting wheel, both of which can be measured by the measuring system.

Abstract
Described herein are examples of material removal machines with work tables separated by an air gap. In some examples, the air gap may provide space for a material removal tool of the material removal machine to extend between and substantially below the work tables to effect a deep cut on a workpiece that extends across the air gap. In some examples, a table actuator may be configured to move the work tables in tandem, allowing for the work tables and/or work piece to be moved to the material removal tool, rather than vice versa. Efficient design of the work tables and material removal machine ensures that the air gap between the work tables remains unobstructed all the way to a floor of the material removal machine, and ensures that the space underneath the work tables is sufficient for fluid/debris drainage and operator access.

Abstract
Provided are a recirculation system (200) for a material removal machine (102) and a material removal system (100). A material removal system (100) includes a recirculation system (200) in fluid communication with a material removal cabinet (104) housing a material removal machine (102). The recirculation system (200) may have an upper reservoir (300) configured to drain fluid into a lower reservoir (204) before recirculating the fluid. The upper reservoir (300) may have a standpipe (320) configured to allow swarf, debris, and/or other material within the fluid to be entrained prior to flowing over the standpipe (320).

Abstract
Vacuum systems for epoxy mounting of material samples are disclosed. In some examples, a vacuum system may be a castable and/or cold mounting vacuum system that facilitates mounting and/or encapsulation of material samples in epoxy resin under low, vacuum, and/or near vacuum pressure. In some examples, the vacuum system may comprise a flow control device configured to control epoxy flow through a dispensing tube that connects to a hollow vacuum chamber. In some examples, the vacuum chamber may have an opening encircled by a rim sandwiched between upper and lower portions of a sealing ring. A movable lid may be configured to press down on the upper portion of the sealing ring when in a closed position, so as to seal the opening.

System and methods for mounting of material samples via a vacuum system (100) and controlling fluid flow through a tube of the vacuum system (100) are disclosed. In some examples, the vacuum system (100) may be a castable and/or cold mounting vacuum system (100) that facilitates mounting and/or encapsulation of material samples in epoxy resin under low, vacuum, and/or near vacuum pressure. In some examples, the vacuum system (100) may comprise a flow control device (500) configured to control epoxy flow through a dispensing tube that connects to a hollow vacuum chamber (104). In some examples, the vacuum chamber (104) may have an opening (134) defined by a rim (130) sandwiched between upper and lower portions of a sealing ring (132). A movable lid (136) may be configured to press down on the upper portion of the sealing ring (132) when in a closed position, so as to seal the opening (134).
