An extruder screw including an elongated cylindrical tension rod; screw segments including radially protruding functional elements configured to feed, mix, and/or knead an extrudate, and a respective pass through bore hole oriented in a longitudinal direction of the extruder screw, wherein the screw segments are slid onto the tension rod with the pass through bore hole and axially supported at a tip of the tension rod; a counter element that clamps the screw segments against the tip of the tension rod at an end of the tension rod wherein the end is arranged distal from the tip; and a locking element that is clamped between the screw segments and the counter element.

Abstract

The invention relates to a housing segment (7) to be assembled as part of a housing of an extruder, and to a method for producing the housing segment, wherein a hardened bushing (11) is inserted into an external body (10) of the housing segment (7), which bushing: has a length (8) of the external body (10) in a longitudinal direction (3) of the extruder; is undivided in a peripheral direction (15) of the extruder; and surrounds a working chamber (4) of the housing, in which working chamber at least one extruder screw is mounted so as to be rotatable about the longitudinal direction (3). In order to simplify the production of the bushing (11), according to the invention the bushing (11) is assembled, inside the housing segment (7), from a plurality of segments (12) each having a length (14) in the longitudinal direction (3) of at most 60 mm.

A method for producing an extruder screw, the method including a. sequentially sliding screw segments onto a tensioned longitudinally extending cylindrical tension rod, the screw segments including: i. radially protruding functional elements configured to feed, mix and/or knead an extrudate, ii. a through bore oriented in a longitudinal direction of the extruder screw (1), and iii. an inner spline extending in the through bore in the longitudinal direction of the extruder screw; b. inserting cylindrical coupling pieces including an outer coupling piece spline into the through bore with positive form locking so that the cylindrical coupling pieces connect adjacent screw segments torque proof; and c. axially supporting the screw segments at a tip of the tension rod and clamping the screw segments against the tip of the tension rod, wherein the inner spline extends over an entire length of the through bore.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing a screw extruder. Screw segments (12) with radially protruding functional elements (13) for conveying, mixing, and/or kneading an extrudate, a through-bore in the longitudinal direction of the screw extruder, and an inner tight-fitting toothing in the through-bore are pushed onto an elongated cylindrical tension rod one after the other. Cylindrical coupling pieces (22) with an outer tightly-fitting toothing (25) are inserted into the through-bore in a form-fitting manner such that the coupling pieces connect adjoining screw segments (12) so as to be rotationally fixed, and the screw segments (12) are axially supported on a tip (8) of the tension rod and are clamped against the tip (8). The invention also relates to such a screw extruder. In order to simplify the production process, the through-bore has a tightly-fitting toothing over the entire length thereof.
