Abstract

The invention relates to a tire valve for a pneumatic tire of a vehicle, comprising a valve stem that extends from the air inlet end to the air outlet end and has, on its outer periphery, an external thread and, in the region of the air outlet end, a stop for a rim base supporting the pneumatic tire and a fastening thread for an air pressure sensor to be positioned inside the air tire, or for another device to be fastened to the valve stem. The tire valve further comprises a union nut having an inner thread for screwing onto the external thread in order to clamp the rim base between the union nut and the stop when the valve stem is pushed through a rim bore, a valve cap made of plastic, and a deformation element on the outer periphery of the valve stem and/or on an inner periphery of the union nut. The tire valve according to the invention is characterized in that the union nut, and, when the deformation element is provided on the inner periphery of the union nut also the deformation element, has a minimum inner diameter that is greater than the maximum outer diameter of the valve cap.
