Abstract

A compass apparatus includes a housing, a locating needle (101), a sundial needle (102), a sensor (304) and a circuit apparatus, the sundial needle (102) is a straight needle, and is mounted on the rotating axis of the locating needle (101), and is perpendicular to the plane in which the locating needle (101) rotates, and the sensor (304) is mounted on the housing. When the locating needle (101) rotates until it coincides with the sun shadow of the sundial needle (102), the measurement angle value of the measured object is detected, and the above measurement value is compared with an inherent sun shadow angle by the circuit apparatus installed in the compass apparatus, and the difference information is outputted through a display apparatus, and the azimuth angle of the measured object is displayed.
