Abstract

A mechanism and method for easily replacing a zipper of a zippered hardside luggage, wherein one side of a zipper is fixed to an upper case body by an upper zipper fastener, and the other side of the zipper is fixed to a lower case body by a lower zipper fastener; the upper zipper fastener and the lower zipper fastener have a respective notch; a removable notch fastener is arranged at the joint between the upper case body and the lower case body at the notch; and the replacement method comprises: firstly removing the notch fastener, pulling out the old zipper from the notches of the upper zipper fastener and the lower zipper fastener, then passing a new zipper through the notches of the upper zipper fastener and the lower zipper fastener, and finally mounting the notch fastener.

Abstract

A simplified zipper-replacement mechanism and method for a zippered hard-shell trolley case. One side of a zipper (1) is fixed onto an upper case body (3) via an upper zipper-fixing element (5); the other side of the zipper (1) is fixed onto a lower case body (4) via a lower zipper-fixing element (6). The upper zipper-fixing element (5) and the lower zipper-fixing element (6) are both provided thereon with notches. A detachable notch-fixing element (8) is provided at a connection of the upper case body (3) and the lower case body (4) at the notches. The replacement method is such that the notch-fixing element (8) is detached first, an old zipper is pulled out and removed from the notches of the upper zipper-fixing element (5) and of the lower zipper-fixing element (6), then a new zipper is introduced through the notches of the upper zipper-fixing element (5) and the lower zipper-fixing element (6) to allow the zipper (1) to be fixed between the upper zipper-fixing element (5) and the lower zipper-fixing element (6), and finally the notch-fixing element (8) is mounted, thereby sealing and fixing the zipper (1). Because a zipper-fixing structure of the simplified zipper-replacement mechanism is simple and stable, when replacing the zipper (1), only one of the notch-fixing element (8) needs to be removed to allow for rapid replacement of the zipper (1), the operation is simple and convenient, and the replacement efficiency is high.
