Abstract

A copper-clad aluminum-magnesium conductor wire for a communication cable and a fabrication method thereof. The copper-clad aluminum-magnesium conductor wire for a communication cable comprises an aluminum-magnesium core bar (1) and a copper layer (2). The copper layer (2) is covered on the surface of the aluminum-magnesium core bar (1) uniformly and concentrically. The volume of the copper layer occupies 18-22% of that of the copper-clad aluminum-magnesium conductor wire. The method for fabricating the copper-clad aluminum-magnesium conductor wire for the communication cable comprises the following steps: firstly, melting process; secondly, covering and welding process; lastly, drawing and annealing process. The copper-clad aluminum-magnesium conductor wire for the communication cable has a reasonable configuration. All of electrical performance, mechanical performance and environmental performance can meet the technical specifications of the inner conductor of the communication cable, and signal, image and data transmission performance can be in conformity with the skin effect of a high-frequency transmission line. The aluminum is substituted for copper so as to save copper resources and reduce cost.
