Abstract

The invention relates to a printing cylinder or printing sleeve which comprises: - an internal structure (17) which is at least partially open, so that one or more hollow spaces (23) are defined, - a substantially liquid-tight cylindrical outer layer (56) surrounding the internal structure; - coupling means (76), such as a groove, for a plate, the coupling means being at least partially situated in, on or under the outer layer, - an insert (72) which is arranged at least partially around and/or under the coupling means and which is designed to impart strength to the coupling means, in which the insert is supported by the internal structure. The invention also relates to a method for producing the printing cylinder or printing sleeve.
