Abstract

The invention relates to mining, and more particularly to drives for the working members of cutter-loaders for mining minerals. The invention concerns means for protecting elements of the transmission of the working member of a cutter-loader. A cutting element is mounted in a safety unit additionally included in a drive and consisting of two splined half couplings which are axially interconnected such as to be capable of mutual rotation and of contacting with elements of the kinematic chain of a reduction gear and with the cutting element. Via axial openings, the splined half couplings abut a cutter safety element such as to enable the transmission of torque, and the ends of the half couplings are provided with caps having elements for removal of the safety unit. The technical result consists in separating, in the kinematic chain of a drive for the working member of a cutter-loader, the functions of damping torsional oscillation amplitude and of protecting a transmission against excessive loads.
