Abstract

Provided is a method of adjusting the tension of a net rope, in a game net used for volleyball and the like, to a suitable specified tension which is set in advance; also provided is a support apparatus for the adjustment. A condition is set in which a standard tensile load (R) is the upward force generated at the center upper edge (S) of a net upon depressing the center upper edge (S) by a specified lowering distance (L) while the net rope (3) is held at a standard tension (N) and set so that the center upper edge (S) is at a specified height (H). In the tension adjustment of the net rope, while the rope is held at a guideline tension (T) and set so that the center upper edge (S) of the net is at the specified height (H), the center upper edge (S) is lowered by an amount equivalent to the specified lowering distance (L), and the measured upward tensile load (RX) that is generated at the center upper edge (S) of the net in that state is measured and displayed. The measured upward tensile load (RX) is compared with the standard tensile load (R), and tension is added to or reduced from the net rope (S) until the measured upward tensile load (RX) that is displayed reaches the standard tensile load (R).
