Abstract

A lock assembly (10) comprised of a shield element (11) that is configured for engagement with a recess (22) in a U-shaped padlock (20) in order to simultaneously receive a shackle (21) of the padlock and an end (17) of an engagement pin (12) while it shields exposed surfaces of said shackle (21). The shield effectively prevents tampering or attack upon the shackle or other vulnerable parts. In use the engagement pin (12) would extend through an aperture in an item to be locked such as the disc brakes of a motorcycle.
