Abstract

[Problem] With character input on a conventional 2-set keyboard, each input of a compound consonant or a compound vowel, with the exception of two of the vowels, is carried out while performing an operation to combine the parts of the characters. [Solution] Compound consonants and compound vowels are synthesized from the start as single units, and by using a physical or virtual keyboard wherein units synthesized as said single units can be selected using a shift key operation, or by using a flick function on a displayed key, the selection of one or a plurality of such units is made possible.
