Abstract

This invention relates to a gaseous stream treatment apparatus (1) for reducing the content of total organic carbon and/or the content of other polluting compounds in the gaseous stream. The treatment apparatus (1) comprises a plurality of treatment compartments (2), each equipped with at least one adsorbent element (3) suitable for adsorbing organic compounds that contribute to the total organic carbon and/or other polluting compounds, an infeed opening (17) and an outfeed opening (18) for the gaseous stream, a distribution chamber (21) for the gaseous stream to be treated and a collection chamber for the gaseous stream treated. The apparatus (1) also comprises a regeneration system for regeneration of the adsorbent elements (3) by means of desorption, wherein the regeneration system can adopt a plurality of configurations, each configuration corresponding to a regeneration condition of one or more respective treatment compartments (2). The regeneration system is suitable for feeding a purging fluid stream to the one or more respective treatment compartments (2) to be regenerated, for discharging the purging fluid stream from said one or more respective treatment compartments (2) to be regenerated, and for heating the at least one adsorbent element (3) of said one or more respective treatment compartments (2) to be regenerated. During use, at least one treatment compartment (2) is in operating condition and at least part of the gaseous stream to be treated flows through it. The regeneration system is operated in such a way as to cyclically switch each treatment compartment (2) from the operating condition to the regeneration condition and vice versa. This invention also relates to a plant (1) for the production of bituminous macadams.

Abstract

A rotary drier for plants for the production of bituminous macadams with the use of recycled materials comprises a hollow rotary cylinder (2), heating means (9) connected to one end (4) of the cylinder (2), an aggregates infeed section (7) connected to one end (3), (4) of the cylinder (2), and a dried material outfeed section (8) connected to the other end (3), (4), an insertion section (24) for inserting recycled material into the cylinder (2), the insertion section being connected to an intermediate portion of the cylinder (2). The inside of the cylinder (2) is axially divided into a first, convection heat exchange zone (12), equipped with material tipping blades (14), and into a second, radiation and conduction heat exchange zone, and the cut material insertion section (24) is positioned inside the first heat exchange zone (12). A first group (25) of tipping blades (14) is mounted circumferentially inside the cylinder (2) between the insertion section (24) and the second heat exchange zone (13).

Abstract

A rotary drier for plants for the production of bituminous macadams with the use of recycled materials comprises a hollow rotary cylinder (2), heating means (9) connected to one end (4) of the cylinder (2), an aggregates infeed section (7) connected to one end of the cylinder (2), a dried material outfeed section (8) connected to the other end and an insertion section (24) for inserting recycled cut material into the cylinder (2), the insertion section being connected to an intermediate portion of the cylinder (2). The insertion section (24) comprises a plurality of radial openings (31) distributed circumferentially on the cylinder (2) inner surface (18) and covered by a covering structure (33) which also comprises a plurality of separator plates (34) circumferentially distributed along the cylinder (2) inner surface (18) so that between each pair of adjacent separator plates (34) there is at least one radial opening (31), the separator plates forming a plurality of first channels (35) for guided insertion of the cut material into the cylinder (2). There are also means (32) for feeding the cut material to the openings (31), said means being located on the outside of the cylinder (2). The covering structure (33) is fastened to the cylinder (2) inner surface upstream of the openings (31), extending in the material feed direction and is distanced from the cylinder (2) inner surface (18) downstream of the openings (31) for putting the openings (31) in communication with the inside of the cylinder (2).
