The invention relates to a device for the metered extraction of products, such as shredded used tyres, coarsely ground municipal waste, commercial waste, paper, textiles, etc., comprising: a hopper that can be used to store a given amount of said products; pallets (24) driven laterally up a slope by a chain-type drive means (29); and a limiter drum (fig. 2) located in the zone at the end before the upward slope, above the pallets (24). The drive means (29) extends beyond the upward slope over a horizontal portion. The invention relates to an airlock with shutters (1), each shutter (2, 6) comprising at least one flap (3) and an electrically powered geared motor unit (10) to open and close said flap (3). This geared motor unit (10) comprises an output shaft capable of back-and-forth rotary movement associated with the opening and closing movement of said flap (3). The invention also relates to a method of operating an airlock with shutters (1), each shutter (2, 6) comprising at least one flap (3) arranged, in the closed position (3b), on a support frame (9), and an electrically powered geared motor unit (10). The invention relates to an extraction plant, e.g. for used shredded tyres, coarsely ground municipal waste, commercial waste, papers, textiles, etc. The plant of the invention includes a hopper (12) for storing a certain amount of product to be extracted, an extractor (20) for pushing said product towards the front end (24) of said extractor (20), a trimmer (21) located in the area of the extractor front end (24) above said extractor (20) and rotating in a direction adapted for sending a portion of said product back into said hopper (12). The plant is characterised in that the trimmer (21) includes pushing means for sending a portion of said product back into the hopper (12). The present invention also relates to an extraction method and to a metering method for an extraction plant according to the present invention.
