Abstract

The invention relates to a device (1) for scarfing warm and cold workpieces (2), such as steel slabs, inside and at the exit of the continuous casting plants, by means of burners (5) comprising a vertical scarfing flame tower (3) in which a horizontal burner frame (4) having a plurality of flame burners (5) arranged on all of the four sides (5) can be moved vertically. Said burner frames (4) surrounds a workpiece (2) which is to be descaled and which is placed in a vertical manner on a support rod (6) which is arranged in the flame shaft (7) of the flame tower (3). A drive element (10) and guide elements embodied in the flame tower (3) are used to vertically drive the horizontal burner frame (4) in the flame shaft (7). Granulating jets (12) installed close to the burner (5) are provided to granulate resulting melted steel and slag transverse to the vertical. All sides of a workpiece (2) can be descaled in the vertical direction at the same time due to said device.

Abstract

The invention relates to a device (1) for scarfing warm and cold workpieces (2) such as steel slabs, inside and upstream of continuous casting plants, by means of scarfing burners (5), comprising a line of rollers (6.1) which are arranged in the direction of transport of the workpiece (2), on which the workpiece (2) which is to be scarfed is arranged. An arranging device (7) places the workpiece (2) vertically on one of its long narrow sides and drive rollers (10.1) transporting the workpiece (2) to a scarfing burner frame (4) comprising the scarfing burners (5). Said scarfing burner frame surrounds the workpiece (2) which is to be scarfed. Additional drive rollers (10.2) transport the workpiece (2) after scarfing to a subsequent deposit device (13) for depositing the workpiece (2) on one of its wide sides on an additional line of rollers (6.2). At least one granulating nozzle (14) installed close to the scarfing burner (5) is used to remove by granulation thus produced melted steel and slag, traverse to the vertical.

Abstract

A flame scarfing head (1) for scarfing the surfaces of slabs produced by casting comprises a number of annular groups (5, 7, 9) of outlet openings for scarfing oxygen, arranged coaxially in relation to the centre point, and at least one outermost row (2, 3) of heating openings for supplying the heating gas and heating oxygen, arranged around the groups (5, 7, 9) of outlet openings. The outlet openings and the heating openings are formed as bores (4, 6, 8, 10) in the body of the flame scarfing head. While keeping the central portion free, a central group (5) of bores (6) is arranged around the centre point coaxially and at a distance from one another and an outer group (7) of bores (8) for scarfing oxygen is arranged coaxially and at a distance around said central group.

Abstract

The invention relates to a deburring device (1) for the mechanical removal of burr (10) occurring on the underside of a continuously cast workpiece (9) during autogenous cutting. At least one body of revolution (12) is arranged on a rotating shaft (4) and has arranged on the circumference thereof a plurality of spaced-apart, radially outwardly directed dish- or cup-like holders (16), each with an internal thread (17). Fitted in each of these holders (16) in a radially outwardly directed manner is a spiral compression spring (18) of a specific length, with a square spring wire cross section, the form, dimensions and pitch of the internal thread (17) of the holder (16) corresponding to the form, dimensions and pitch of the spring wire of the compression spring (18).

Abstract

The invention relates to a slab flame-cutting machine (1) for cast workpieces in a continuous casting installation comprising a roller table (4), on which a cast slab (2) to be separated into workpieces by flame cutting is guided transversely in relation to the transporting direction thereof. The machine has a cantilever (12), which is arranged over the cast slab (2) and can be moved out from a bridge (5) and into the bridge (5) in synchronous movement with the cast slab (2) during the cutting operation, said cantilever having a cutting torch (14) at the front end thereof, a cantilever drive unit (11) and a clamping mechanism (20). The cantilever drive unit (11) can be moved up and down above the cast slab (2) with the extendable and retractable cantilever (12). The synchronous movement of the cantilever (12) with the cast slab (2) is brought about by the clamping mechanism (20) and the subsequent synchronization of the cantilever drive unit (11), wherein the clamping of the clamping mechanism (20) is performed on the underside of the workpiece to be cut off from the cast slab (2), in order to raise the latter slightly.

Abstract

A scarfing block assembly (1) comprises an upper preheating block (2), a lower preheating block (3), a scarfing slit (4) formed therebetween, and a sliding block (5) having sliding pieces (6) for moving the scarfing block assembly (1) on a workpiece (7) to be scarfed, such as a slab, block or billet. At least in the upper preheating block (2), a plurality of channels (12) and bores (13) for feeding and distributing hot gas and hot oxygen to outlet openings (10) to produce flames (15) and water channels (14) for cooling at least the upper preheating block (2) are formed. In the upper preheating block (2), an externally mixing heating flame outlet bar (11) provided with a plurality of outlet openings (10; 16, 17, 18) for hot gas and hot oxygen is arranged. The scarfing block assembly (1) is easier and cheaper to produce, and a high heating capacity in particular during heat-up can be achieved therewith.
