Abstract

In order to improve durability by improving the strength of the rubber itself while increasing the peeling strength with respect to core wire, canvass, or short fibers, a toothed belt (10) is equipped with: a belt main body (13), which is integrally formed by means of tooth rubber (11) provided on one surface and back rubber (12) provided on the other surface; and core wire (14), which is wound in a spiral shape and embedded extending in the lengthwise direction of the belt, in the boundary portion between the tooth rubber (11) and the back rubber (12). A tooth fabric (20) that covers the tooth rubber (11) is bonded to the surface of the tooth rubber (11), that is, to the one surface of the belt main body (13). The tooth rubber (11) is obtained by vulcanization molding of a rubber composition that includes HNBR or other rubber, resorcinol, a melamine compound, silica, and the like.

Abstract

In order to improve the durability of a friction transmission belt, a V-ribbed belt (10) is equipped with an adhesive rubber part (12) and a compressed rubber part (14) provided below the adhesive rubber part (12). Core wires (11) which are belt-tensioning members are embedded in the adhesive rubber part (12). The adhesive rubber part (12) is equipped with an upper layer (12A) which forms the upper side and a lower layer (12B) which forms the lower side, with the core wires (11) as the boundary. The upper layer (12A) and the lower layer (12B) are formed by vulcanizing a rubber composition that includes a high-viscosity elastomer such as EPM or EPDM and a low-viscosity elastomer having a lower Mooney viscosity than the high-viscosity elastomer, and these layers include modified nylon microfibers as short fibers (21A), (21B). The short fibers (21A) and (21B) are oriented respectively in the width direction and the longitudinal direction of the belt.

Abstract

This toothed belt is characterized by all or part of a belt main body being formed using a thermoplastic elastomeric alloy containing a thermoplastic polyurethane (A) and a modified ethylene-propylene-dien copolymer rubber (B) provided by an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof. It is desirable for the weight ratio [(B)/(A)] between the modified ethylene-propylene-dien copolymer rubber (B) provided by the unsaturated carboxylic acid or the derivative thereof and the thermoplastic polyurethane (A) to be 0.1/99.9-30/70. This toothed belt has extremely excellent durability, the belt main body being unlikely to generate wear, damage, cracks, or breakages, etc., even if used under high load for a long time.

Abstract

A belt mounting jig with which a user can easily mount a belt on pulleys while mounting the belt mounting jig on a pulley on the small-diameter side, or on the low-load side. The belt mounting jig (1) has a holding surface (7) for holding a part of a belt (4) at a position radially outward from a pulley flange (6), and also has a guide surface (8) for guiding the belt (4) to the holding surface (7). The belt mounting jig (1) is mounted on a pulley (2) on the small-diameter side, or on the low-load side. The belt (4) is passed over the belt mounting jig (1) and the pulleys (2, 3), and then a pulley (3) on the large-diameter side, or on the high-load side, is rotated. The pulley (2) is rotated by tensile force of the belt (4) guided in the rotation direction by the guide surface (8). A portion of the belt (4), which portion is held by the holding surface (7), slides in the pulley axis direction and fits into a pulley groove (5).

Abstract

V ribbed belt (10) includes inferior rubber layer (12), adhesive rubber layer (16) and canvas (22). The inferior rubber layer (12) contains staple fibers (14), some of which project from surface (12S) of the inferior rubber layer. In the inferior rubber layer (12), FEF being a carbon black of 49 m2/g or less average nitrogen surface area (ASTM D1765-01) is used as a reinforcing agent to thereby produce fine unevenness on the surface (12S) of the inferior rubber layer. This prevents the generation of noise at the time of use of the V ribbed belt (10). Further, by virtue of the use of the reinforcing agent, appropriate surface roughness can be maintained even after the wear-out of the staple fibers (14) projecting from the surface (12S) of the inferior rubber layer, thereby attaining inhibition of the generation of noise.

Abstract

A V-ribbed belt (10) includes a lower rubber layer (12), an adhesive rubber layer (16), and a canvas (22). The lower rubber layer (12) contains short fibers (14) a part of which is projecting from the friction surface (12S) of the lower rubber layer (12). In the lower rubber layer (12), generation of abnormal noise is prevented when the V-ribbed belt (10) is used by using FEF which is carbon black having an average nitrogen surface area of 49 m2/g or less (ASTM D1765-01) as a reinforcement agent, and by providing minute unevenness on the friction surface (12S). Furthermore, appropriate surface roughness is maintained even after the short fibers (14) projecting from the friction surface (12S) have worn down by employing the reinforcement agent, and generation of abnormal noise can be suppressed.

Abstract

An arm (3) supporting a tension pulley (2) around which an endless torque transmitting member (B) is looped is supported by a fixed member (E) via a base member (7). A torsion coil spring (8) is interposed between the base member (7) and the arm (3). The base member (7) is brought into pressure-contact with the fixed member (E) by a tightening force of a bolt (6). A pivot shaft (5) is fitted onto the outer circumference of the bolt (6) so as not to cause a tip to contact the fixed member (E). By transmitting an axial force generated by tightening the bolt (6) to the base member (7) via a flange (5A) formed on the outer circumference of the pivot shaft (5), the distribution of a contact pressure between the fixed member (E) and the base member (7) is optimized.
