Abstract

A compressor design includes a male rotor (10) having one or more helical lobes (12) and a female rotor (14) having one or more helical grooves (16). The male rotor is mounted on a first shaft and the female rotor is mounted on a second shaft. The male rotor is positioned in a first section of a chamber and the female rotor is positioned in a second section of the chamber. Fluid enters the chamber at an inlet, and when the rotors are driven, the lobes of the male rotor fit into the grooves of the female rotor, causing compression and movement of the fluid towards an outlet or discharge end where the compressed fluid is discharged. The configuration of the lobe and groove helix, the lobe and groove profile, and the outer diameter of the rotors can be varied in different combinations to form different rotors.

Abstract

A compressor head assembly includes a valve head, a valve clamp, and a two way concentric valve. The valve head includes a sidewall having an intake port and a discharge port and defines a hollow interior having a surface sloped relative a central axis of the valve head. The valve clamp includes an interface sealingly engaged with the sloped surface.

Abstract

A high speed induction motor assembly comprising a solid, multilayer rotor and a stator core with a fractional-slot tooth-coil winding is provided. The ratio of slots number per pole and phase is sub-unitary. The rotor includes a solid ferromagnetic core coated with a layer of copper. Due to the permeability of the copper material coating the solid rotor core, the motor assembly may have an effective radial magnetic air-gap that is larger than its mechanical radial air gap, which is defined between the inner surface of the stator core and the outer surface of the copper layer coating the solid rotor core.

Abstract

An assembly to retro-fit a valve head of a compressor that may include a valve head including an exhaust orifice, a concentric two-way valve carried by the valve head, and a valve clamp having an intake port in a top of the valve clamp; the valve clamp being removably coupled to the valve head. The valve clamp may include an annular first wall that defines an intake chamber in fluid connection with the intake port and an annular second wall outside the first wall. The space between the first and second walls may define an exhaust chamber in fluid connection with the exhaust orifice of the valve head. The valve clamp may also include a plunger housing to engage and displace a spring-loaded plunger. The plunger housing may be supported on the valve clamp with a plurality of support arms.

Abstract

An assembly of a compressor for pressurizing a fluid includes a main housing having a portion being substantially planar. The housing defines at least two parallel intersecting bores. At least two rotors are journaled for rotation within the bores. A plurality of vent channels in the main housing extend outwardly from at least one bore through the portion being substantially planar. The vent channels are configured for the fluid to flow through the vent channels. A slide valve assembly is operably connected to the housing proximate the plurality of vent channels. The slide valve assembly has a valve plate wherein the valve plate has a substantially planar side that is sealingly engaged with the planar portion of the main housing. The valve plate is positioned into one of a plurality positions relative to the vent channels

Abstract

A first valve head is selected for removal from a piston cylinder. The first valve head has been configured to house at least a one way intake valve assembly in an intake chamber of the head and at least a one way exhaust valve assembly in an exhaust chamber of the head. The intake and exhaust chambers are sealed off from each other. The first valve head is removed from the piston cylinder. A second valve head is selected. A bottom of the second valve head is removably coupled to the piston cylinder. A concentric two way valve is seated within the second valve head. The concentric valve is secured within said second valve head with a valve clamp having a top cover. The top cover is removably coupled to the second valve head.

Abstract

A rotary screw compressor with an oil feed system that has a plurality of oil orifice nozzles to feed oil to the compressor rotors and the compressor bearings. One of the oil orifice nozzles is generally always provided with a regulated flow of oil. At least one and preferably two on/off oil valves can be selectively opened and closed. Each of the on/off oil valves are of a different size and are selectively opened and closed to step regulate the amount of oil being fed to the compression chamber according to a predetermined compression chamber discharge temperature.
