Abstract

An automatic machine for drilling and milling substantially flat glass sheets (1 ) arranged vertically or almost vertically, having a rectangular or other than rectangular shape, comprising: a machine body; an input conveyor ( 100) provided with a motorized roller conveyor (101 ) or roller belt that conveys the glass sheet (1) by means of its lower edge (la); an input conveyance surface ( 103) provided with idle gliding wheels ( 104); an output conveyor (200) provided with a motorized roller conveyor (201) or motorized belt that conveys the glass sheet (1) by means of its lower edge ( l a); an output conveyance surface (203) provided with idle gliding wheels (204); at least one carriage (206) provided with synchronous horizontal motion along the longitudinal axis X2; at least one pair of working heads (300, 400) provided independently with a synchronous vertical motion for adjustment and feeding along the axes Y1 and Y2, each head bearing a tool (303, 403) provided with rotary motion (cutting) and feeding motion along the axes Z1 and Z2 that are perpendicular to the face of the glass sheet (1), each tool being adapted to make contact with the surface and therefore with the body of said glass sheet (1) and arrangeable, with respect to the face of said glass sheet 1), in any position, characterized in that at least one of the two heads (300, 400) is also provided with a carriage (316) that performs a feeding motion along the longitudinal axis XI while the opposite head is provided with at least one sucker (416) that engages the surface of the glass sheet (1 ) during the work performed by one head (300) or the other head (400) or by the two heads (300, 400) simultaneously.

Abstract

An automatic machine and an automatic method for the application of a spacer profile, preferably made of expanded synthetic material, on a glass sheet in order to compose the insulating glazing unit, after extrusion of a thermoplastic sealant on a portion of each one of its faces designed for mating. The process for extrusion of the sealant on the profile is independent of the process for applying the profile on the glass sheet, so that therefore each one of the two processes can be performed by using its optimum parameters.
