Abstract

A drain valve 1 adapted to be releasably retained in a pipe 100, includes a valve seat 2 and a valve body 3. The valve seat 2 and the valve body 3 define a non-return valve 4 that is at least partially deformable under fluid pressure from a closed position in which fluid is not permitted to flow through the non-return valve to an open position in which fluid is permitted to flow through the non-return valve 4. The valve seat 2 and the valve body 3 have correspondingly curved profiles.

Abstract

An assembly (1) for receiving a lateral pipe in an opening formed in a concrete structure (70) comprises an elastomeric sleeve (10) and a rigid ring component (20). The rigid ring component (20) has a first end (21) having an inwardly projecting rib (24), and a second end (22) having an outwardly projecting flange (25). The elastomeric sleeve (10) is provided with an inwardly extending rib (11) adapted to overlap and support the inwardly projecting rib (24). The elastomeric sleeve 10 has an outwardly extending flange (13) which is adapted to abut the outer surface of the concrete structure (80). The assembly (1) can additionally comprise a removable spacer (30) and or bushing means (40).

Abstract

A pipe coupling (1) comprises an elastomeric sleeve (10) and a clamping band (20). The elastomeric sleeve (10) comprises a substantially tubular body (11) having a substantially contiguous interior surface (12). At each end of the body (11) are provided circumferential sealing flaps (13) overlapping the outer surface (14) of the body (11) to define a partially enclosed channel (15). The clamping band (20) comprises an elongate planar strip (21), opposing ends (22) of the strip (21) being connected by adjustment means (30). The ends (22) each comprise a plurality of fingers (23) adapted to interleave with one another. In use, the coupling (1) is inserted into the opposing ends of a pair of pipes (2a, 2b) with dissimilar exterior profiles. After insertion into the ends of pipes (2a, 2b) the clamping band (20) is lengthened and as a result, the sealing flaps (13) are urged into contact with the interior profile of the pipes (2a, 2b) creating a secure seal between the sealing flaps (13) and the pipes (2a, 2b).
