Abstract

A shift lever assembly includes a shift lever, a folding device, and a fold interlock device. The shift lever is adapted to move between park and gear positions. The shift lever includes a base structure and an arm pivotally engaged to the base structure about a first axis. The folding device is adapted to pivotally move the arm with respect to the base structure about the first axis and between deployed and stowed states. The fold interlock device is adapted to move between locked and released positions, and includes a locking member adapted to abut the arm in a circumferential direction with respect to the first axis when in the locked position to prevent movement from the deployed state to the stowed state, and to circumferentially clear the arm when in the released position to enable actuation of the folding device from the deployed state to the stowed state.

Abstract

A shift-by-wire (SBW) column shifter for a vehicle includes a shift lever configured to be moved to shift gears. A shaft enables the shift lever to rotate the shaft about an axis. A lever detent is coupled to the shaft, enabling the shaft to rotate the lever detent about the axis. A rotatable magnet rotates as the lever detent rotates. A magnetic sensor senses the angular position of the lever detent due to the changes in magnetic characteristics of the magnet as it rotates. A processor can command an operating gear change based on the signal output from the magnet sensor.

A slider magnet is constrained to move along a path, such as a linear path. The slider magnet has a groove that is engaged by a projection of the lever detent. Rotation of the lever detent about the axis is converted into movement of the slider magnet along the path via the engagement of the projection and the groove. A plurality of sensors are configured to output signals indicating a position of the slider magnet along the path to indicate a requested change in operating gear of the vehicle.

Abstract

An external side mirror is pivotable relative to a vehicle to which it is attached. The external side mirror includes an outer cover, and a housing bracket within the outer cover. The housing bracket is mounted or attached to the outer cover. A gasket is removably attached to the underside of the housing bracket. The gasket has a plurality of hooks that extend upwardly and attach to the housing bracket. Support ribs extending from the outer cover trap the hooks against the housing bracket. This allows the gasket to pivot along with the external side mirror relative to the vehicle to keep the gasket hidden from view even when the external side mirror is pivoted.

Abstract

Antenna system adapted for integration in side mirrors of a vehicle. The antenna system includes two radiating conductors and a reflector coplanarly disposed on a same dielectric substrate of a printed circuit board. The radiating conductors are connected to the reflector through transmission lines electromagnetically coupled to a frequency band of operation. Abstract

A MIMO antenna system for a vehicle comprising first and second monopole antennas, which comprises first, second and third conductors. First and second conductors are electrically connected in parallel, and the third conductor is coupled to the first and second conductors. The first conductor has a height (H1) and thickness (t1) such that the H1/t1 ratio is within 5 to 45 to provide a resonant frequency at a first LTE frequency band. The second conductor has a height of 30%-60% H1 to provide a resonant frequency at a second LTE frequency band. The third conductor provides resonant frequencies at third and fourth LTE frequency bands, and having an electrical length such that the coupling level of the third conductor with respect to first and second conductors in the third and fourth LTE frequency bands is greater than 10 dB.

Abstract

A gear selector assembly includes a shift gate including a plurality of gates, a gear selector movable between the plurality of gates and including a pawl, and a gate blocker positioned to restrictively interact with the pawl of the gear selector to selectively restrict movement of the gear selector through a first gate to a second gate. The gate blocker includes a biasing member configured to bias the gate blocker towards a nominal position. The gate blocker is configured to not restrictively interact with the pawl to allow the gear selector to move from the first gate to the second gate when the gate blocker is in the nominal position. Each gate of the shift gate is associated with a mode of operation of a vehicle.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and a system designed to determine an individual's state of attention from an individual's respiratory signal. The method of the invention comprises a first learning step, wherein the characteristics of an individual's normal state are determined by selecting a respiratory signal fragment that is considered to be normal according to a pre-established criterion, and a second analysis phase, wherein the individual's state of attention is determined from parameters extracted from the respiratory signal on the basis of some pre-defined rules and the individual's normal state previously characterised. The method of the invention is implemented in two embodiments. A first embodiment is based on the identification of pre-defined patterns in the respiratory signal and, in the second embodiment, an index indicative of the variability of the respiratory signal is defined.

Abstract

This invention relates generally to an improved system for connecting an integrated antenna to a car's ground point. The antenna matching system comprises a conductor (B) connected between an antenna element (A) and a first end of a feeder conductor (1) of a coaxial cable (C). A first end of the shielding conductor (2) of the coaxial cable is open, and a second end of the shielding conductor is adapted for its connection to a ground connection point (E) of a vehicle. The length of the conductor is selected to provide an inductive effect which substantially cancels the capacitive component of the antenna at the band of operation. The invention provides a matching system for the antenna of a motor vehicle, that allows to tune the antenna to the designed frequency independently of the selected ground point in the vehicle, so that a greater grade of freedom is obtained to design the antenna matching circuit.
