Abstract

The invention relates to methods and devices for simply and precisely determining the straightness of bar conductors. Bar conductors to be examined are placed onto two supports which are spaced apart from one another, and a gravity-induced deflection of the respective bar conductor between the supports is determined. A nominal deflection of a perfectly straight bar conductor is determined implicitly from a mean value of deflections which are produced when bar conductors are placed onto the supports in two orientations which are turned by 180° about their longitudinal axis. The straightness of the bar conductor is extrapolated from a comparison of the deflection in one of the orientations of the bar conductor with the nominal deflection. The nominal deflection can be determined for each bar conductor individually from the two deflections in the case of a support of this bar conductor turned by 180°; in this case, the difference in the deviations specifies a measure of the deviation from the nominal deflection, without this needing to be explicitly calculated. As an alternative, the nominal deflection can be determined for identical bar conductors explicitly by way of two-sided measurement of one or more bar conductors; for further identical bar conductors, only a single deflection then needs to be determined which is compared with the nominal deflection. In this way, the straightness in the two planes which are perpendicular with respect to the flat sides can be determined for bar conductors with a rectangular cross section.

Abstract

A method for skiving machining a toothed workpiece includes the steps of: providing the toothed workpiece rotatable about a workpiece axis; providing a toothed tool rotatable about a tool axis; tilting the tool axis through an azimuth angle φ>0° with respect to an x direction; tilting the tool axis furthermore through a polar angle Θ<90 ° with respect to a z direction; rotating the toothed tool about the tool axis, the toothed tool in a contact zone sliding over the toothed workpiece rotating about the workpiece axis. The workpiece axis defines the x direction and the perpendicular of the contact zone to the workpiece axis defines a z direction. The x direction, a y direction and the z direction form a Cartesian coordinate system. This method can easily produce a chamber on the toothed workpiece with the toothed tool which is subject to fewer geometric restrictions.

Abstract

A method for honing a workpiece includes moving the workpiece onto an intermediate retention member which is rotatable about a vertical workpiece axis. Then, the workpiece is brought into a rolling engagement with a teaching wheel. An angular transfer position of the workpiece is established by the rotary sensor of the teaching wheel retention member. Next, the workpiece is transferred from the intermediate retention member onto a workpiece spindle, where the workpiece is retained onto the workpiece spindle. Then, the workpiece goes through a honing process by bringing the workpiece into a synchronized rolling engagement with a honing tool by utilizing the angular transfer position of the workpiece, thereby eliminating a separate centering step of the workpiece.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method, in particular a turning method, for producing a rotationally symmetrical surface on a rotating workpiece (1), wherein a cutting edge (3) is inserted into the workpiece (1) many times. During each insertion (41), a new contour portion (11; 34), also referred to as a groove, is formed. The insertion positions lie so closely together that the resulting contour (7) generated on the workpiece (1) consists exclusively of adjacent residual contours or residual grooves (11′) which have arisen from the new contour portions or grooves (11; 34). Any interim contour portions (24) which have formed between the insertion positions during repositioning of the cutting edge (3) are removed again during the next insertion (41). The resulting rotationally symmetrical surface is twist-free. The method can be implemented using conventional lathes.

Abstract

The invention relates to a process, in particular a turning process, for the manufacture of a rotationally symmetrical area on a rotating workpiece (1), where a tool cutting edge (3) is inserted many times into the workpiece (1). Each insertion produces a new profile section (11), also termed a groove. The insertion positions are so tightly spaced that the resultant profile (7) produced on the workpiece (1) is composed exclusively of residual profiles or residual grooves which adjoin one another and which derive from the new profile sections or grooves (11). Any interim profile sections produced between the insertion positions during the repositioning of the tool cutting edge (3) are in turn removed during subsequent insertion. The resultant rotationally symmetrical area is free from swirl effects. The process can be carried out with conventional lathes.
