Abstract

The paper material includes a base support having a mixture of cellulose fibres and other natural and/or synthetic fibres, at least one polymeric substance adapted to confer to the base support mechanical resistance, water resistance and a functional barrier to water, fats, oils and gases, and an inorganic filler, the base support having a porosity comprised between 50 and 20000 sec according to the Gurley method and being coated with at least one surface coat having as adhesive at least one silicone from 0.1% by weight to 5% by weight of the paper material, adapted to confer to the coat functional barrier properties to water, fats, oils and gases, mechanical resistance and the ability to fold without tearing.

Abstract

A self-adhesive label includes a bilayer having at least one layer of paper coupled to at least one polymeric film, wherein the polymeric film is coated, on the surface opposite to the surface of coupling to the at least one paper layer, with a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). The adhesive has “wash-off” properties such as to cause the label to peel off from a surface by washing with a 1.0%-2.0% NaOH solution at 65-75° C. Alternatively, the adhesive has a force lower than the shrink force of the polymeric film. The label also includes an intermediate layer placed between the polymeric film and the PSA adhesive, capable of promoting the adhesion of the PSA adhesive to the polymeric film, and/or the polymeric film is treated with a corona, flame treatment or plasma treatment.

The invention relates to a method to embed a label essentially consisting of a paper substrate carrying electronic inks and/or a printed electronic circuit and/or device (thereby achieving a paper-based electronic circuit) directly into a moulded plastic piece (also designated as plastic object), the embedding of the paper-based electronic circuit and the production of the plastic piece being performed in a single operation.
