Method for cutting block materials and cutting machine for cutting block materials
A method for the cutting of block materials, particularly foamed or expanded materials, wherein a knife element having first and second ends is driven in a translatory manner in longitudinal direction so as to perform a reciprocating movement. The driving force is exerted on the first and second end of the knife element, the driving of the first end of the knife element being performed by conversion of a first rotary movement into a first translatory movement, and the driving of the second end of the knife element being performed by conversion of a second rotary movement into a second translatory movement in a sense opposed to that of the first translatory movement.

A thin layer is cut from a foam material body using a band-knife. A take-off device that lifts and removes the layer from the cutting site, includes a belt conveyor with an electrostatically chargeable conveyor element. The layer is lifted and removed from the cutting site by electrostatic attraction to the conveyor element.

METHOD FOR CUTTING BLOCK MATERIALS AND CUTTING MACHINE FOR CUTTING BLOCK MATERIALS
The invention relates to a method for cutting block materials, in particular foamed or expanded materials, wherein a cutter element (5) having a first and a second end (5a, 5b) is driven in a translatory manner to perform a movement to and fro in the longitudinal direction. The first and second ends (5a, 5b) of the cutter element (5) are driven, wherein the drive of the first end (5a) of the cutter element (5) takes place by transforming a first rotary movement into a first translatory movement and the drive of the second end (5b) of the cutter element (5) takes place by transforming a second rotary movement into a second translatory movement that is in the same direction as the first translatory movement. Based on complete revolutions, the rotational speed of the first rotary movement is the same as the rotational speed of the second rotary movement, and, when there is a reversal of the first and second rotary movements, the first rotary movement has a greater angular velocity in a first and a second portion of the revolution than the second rotary movement and the second rotary movement has a greater angular velocity than the first rotary movement in a third and a fourth portion of the revolution, and the first and second rotary movements have the same angular velocity at the beginning and end of a revolution and at the transition between the second and third portions of the revolution.

The invention relates to splitting off a thin layer (16) from a foam body (11) by means of a band knife (12). A removal device (20) lifting and removing the layer (16) from the cutting point comprises a belt conveyor (21) having a conveyor element (22) that can be electrostatically charged. Lifting and removing the layer (16) from the cutting point is done by the electrostatic attraction to the conveyor element.
The invention relates to a foam cutting machine having an continuous, band-shaped knife (11) and having an oscillating device (24) which drives the knife in the knife plane and perpendicular to the knife edges in an oscillating manner. The effect of a serrated or waved knife is thus achieved although the knife has a straight front knife edge (11b). Said type of knife provides the option of resharpening and does not have the disadvantages of wave-shaped or serrated knives.

According to the method, in an initial peeling phase (AP), the block of material (10) is spirally peeled. Subsequently, there is a transitional phase (UP) of a fraction of a revolution in order to change over to the desired layer thickness. In the following peeling phase (SP), the same spiral pitch is used as in the initial stripping phase. During each revolution of the block of material, the blade is lowered to an increased depth into the block of material in a limited angular range (22) and, subsequently, the revolution is completed with the pitch of the initial peeling phase. Advantages are obtained by the desired layer thickness being achieved within fractions of a revolution. The method can be carried out with little time being spent and low material wastage.
The cutting machine comprises a horizontal knife (17) for cutting a block (40) into plates (41). To allow for removal of a stack of plates (42) before the whole block (40) has been cut, a removal means comprising a removal conveyor (32) is provided. After completion of the last cut, the knife (17), after reversal of its cutting edge, will be entered into the cutting gap (43) again and be lifted, thus allowing a separating member (34) of the removal conveyor (32) to enter the resultant gap (44). By driving the conveyer belt (12), the stack of plates (42) is transferred onto the removal conveyor (32).
The invention relates to a cutting machine comprising a horizontal blade (17) for cutting a block (40) into slabs (41). A removal device comprising a removal conveyor (32) is provided in order to be able to remove a stack of slabs before the block (40) is completly cut. Said blade (17) is turned after completion of the last step and reintroduced into the cutting cerf (43) and lifted such that the removal conveyor (32) can engage with a separation element (34) in the thus produced gap (44). The stack of slabs (42) is transferred on the removal conveyor (32) by driving the conveyor belt (12).
