Abstract
A method and apparatus for treating edema is disclosed. The method may include obtaining a compression garment comprising material having an end stretch. At least one gauge may be applied to the material. The compression garment may be applied to a patient. During the applying, the material may be stretched until the at least one gauge indicates that a proper amount of stretch has been reached. The at least one gauge may be tuned so that the material arrives at or near end stretch at substantially the same time that the at least one gauge indicates that the proper amount of stretch has been reached.

Abstract
A method of treating a condition of a patient's limb is disclosed. The method may use a compression garment wrappable about the limb and a template comprising markings showing where to trim the compression garment to fit a smaller size limb. Measurements may be taken of a circumference of the limb of the patient. Next, the template may be positioned to overlay at least a portion of the compression garment. The compression garment may then be cut or trimmed proximate a marking of the markings matching the measurement.

Abstract
A method of selecting and using a compression garment is disclosed. The method may include selecting a garment comprising a compression sleeve including a proximal end and a distal end. The compression sleeve may comprise material having one of short-stretch function and inelastic function. The method may include donning the garment by inserting a limb of an animal or human through an opening in the proximal end and positioning the compression sleeve such that the material extends over at least a portion of a muscle mass of the limb. When the muscle mass is activated, the compression sleeve may augment the venous muscle return produced by the muscle mass.

Abstract
A compression garment for treating edema is disclosed. The garment may include first and second bands. Each of the bands may comprise a first end, second end opposite the first end, and an intermediate portion located between the first and second ends. The first and second bands may each comprise short-stretch material having a maximum elastic elongation in the range of about 15% up to about 100%. The first band may wrap around a first portion of a patient's limb. The second band may wrap around a second portion of the limb. The first and second bands may be applied such that the intermediate portion of the first band and the intermediate portion of the second band abut without overlapping one another. Once applied, the garment may provide therapeutic compression to the patient's limb.

Abstract
A compression device to be wrapped around the distal extremity of a patient for use in moderate to severe swelling/lymphedema. The device includes a flexible planar compression material of preferably short-stretch compression material. Fasteners are attached to the first and second band portions. The compression material in preferred embodiment contains short-stretch compression material with 20%-60% stretch. The device is designed such that it may be used to augment compression to the hand when used in conjunction with compression to the fingers and arm. The device is designed to be applied easier with one hand.

Abstract
A therapeutic compression apparatus includes a liner having a tubular body portion with a proximalopening for receiving a limb of a patient. The tubular body portion includes an inside region with an inside circumference that is sized to extend about and in contact with the limb. The inside circumference is substantially identical to a circumference of the limb at a respective area of contact. The tubular body portion includes an outside region having an outside circumference that varies from the inside circumference at respective cross-sections through the tubular body.
