Abstract

The invention relates to a crown-type metal cap for sealing the mouth of a preferably aluminium metal bottle, said cap being formed by a laminar part of circular plan form, including an inner face and an outer face and provided peripherally with a closure skirt and, on the inner face, with a closure gasket including a peripheral lip. The cross-section of the peripheral lip is formed by a convex arc having at least one radius of curvature, adjacent to the closure skirt, said lip also including a side opposite the closure skirt, which can be a straight side or a curved side having a radius of curvature greater than that of the convex arc.

Abstract

The invention relates to a crown-type metal top for easy opening by twisting or using a pry lever. Before application, said metal top has a bell-shaped closing skirt comprising a plurality of alternating projections and depressions, the width of the projections being smaller than the width of the depressions, and each depression has a convex fold on its outer edge such that, when the closing skirt folds over the mouth of the recipient, each projection branches off into a pair of smaller projections that acquire a curved shape and are separated by a central depression that acquires a similar shape to that of the inside of a spheroid, forming a surface of the skirt that is comfortable to touch in order to facilitate manual opening by rotation, while the convex fold of each depression prevents the collapse of the outer edge of the depression in order to form a bell-shaped opening edge so as to facilitate the opening of the metal top by means of a bottle opener.
