Abstract

An electromagnetic-mechanical locking device applied to a subsurface safety valve comprising an electromagnetic-mechanical coupler formed electromagnet (4), ferromagnetic bulkhead (5) in solidarity to the mobile part (6), actuated by spring (9), in addition to locking element (7), and when activated, the electromagnet (4) creates a magnetic field that attracts the ferromagnetic bulkhead (5), along with the mobile part (6), moving this set towards the electromagnet (4), and compressing the locking element (7). During the movement, the mobile part (6) shifts the locking element (7) to the locking position, until it reaches its coupling on the flow tube (3), where it is maintained with compression locking element (7), configuring a trigger device. When the power supplied to the electromagnet (4) ceases, the electromagnetic attraction force of the ferromagnetic bulkhead (5) is cancelled, and the locking element (7), until then retracted, is distended, causing the return of the mobile part (6) to initial position.

Abstract

A fully electric downhole safety tool comprising a valve for flow blockage in oil and gas wells completion operations under emergency conditions is described. Valve comprises an actuation array constituted by a hollow shaft motor, nut, spindle and sliding sleeve, so that upon starting, the opening movement of said array compresses a valve closure spring and places the flapper sealing in the open position, enabling communication to occur between zones and fluid to flow. To close the valve, as soon as the electrical supply is ceased, the string relaxes, the sliding sleeve, under spring force, returns as is the case for the whole of the actuation array, and flapper sealing is exposed to the flow so that valve returns to the closed position, physically blocking the flow.

Said valve (200) comprises: a housing (105) provided with an infinitely variable choke (109) wherein seals (106, 107) work as gaskets for both the outside and inside of the valve (200); a hollow-shaft servomotor (101) inside said housing (105) attached to a nut (102), and, additionally, when said motor (101) is activated, it directly moves a sliding sleeve (103) provided with an infinitely variable choke (108) axis-wise said valve; and in which the movement of said motor (101) is generated by means of a spindle (104), created on the very same said sliding sleeve (103), and in which said valve (200) is operated from the surface by means of a single electric cable (112).
