Abstract

The invention relates to a device and a method for testing tablets. In the process, a tablet is brought onto a rotary disk (1) by a transport rack (6). The rotary disk (1) positions the tablet (7) along one or more positioning surfaces by rotating. The positioning surfaces are preferably an abutment (2) and a stop (3). As soon as the tablet (7) is aligned on a positioning surface, a test of the tablet (7) is carried out by means of a breaking jaw (4). The breaking jaw can test the diameter as well as the breaking resistance of the tablet (7). The transport rack removes the tablet or the tablet debris from the rotary disk (1) after the tablet (7) has been checked.

Abstract

The present invention relates to an apparatus for aligning oblong tablets, dragees or similarly shaped tablets in a test station of a tablet testing device with a planar transfer table, wherein the test tablet which has been transferred is conveyed into a test area below the transfer table and at least two rollers which are beside one another are provided at the bottom of the test area below the transfer table. During operation of the apparatus, a drive apparatus drives the at least two rollers in opposite directions in such a manner that the left-hand roller(s) is/are rotated in the clockwise direction and the right-hand roller(s) is/are rotated in the anti-clockwise direction, with the result that a test tablet transferred to the at least two rollers is automatically aligned according to the axes of the two inner rollers. A tablet testing device having at least one test station, which is intended to determine at least one physical parameter of a test tablet and has an apparatus according to the invention for aligning tablets, and a method for determining different physical parameters of a test tablet are likewise part of the present invention.

Abstract

A method for determining the hardness of solid samples and an apparatus for carrying out said method are described. In the method, a solid sample (6) is conveyed on a support (3) between breaking jaws (1) and a stop (2). The method is distinguished by the fact that a light emitter (4) emits parallel light in the direction of the solid sample (6) and a line sensor (5) detects the parallel light and/or the absence of the parallel light. The orientation of the solid sample (6) is then determined on the basis of the parallel light detected by the line sensor (5) and/or on the basis of the absence of the parallel light detected by the line sensor. The breaking jaws (1) and the stop (2) and/or the support (3) are then rotated about an axis, which runs through the support (3) and is arranged perpendicular thereto, until the breaking jaws (1) and the stop (2) have reached the position intended for measurement with respect to the solid sample (6). Finally, the hardness of the solid sample (6) is determined by moving the breaking jaws (1) towards the stop (2) and measuring the force required for this purpose.
