Reusable bolt electronic seal module with GPS/cellular phone communications and tracking system
An electronic security bolt seal for locking a hasp includes an electronic module that has a circuit board disposed at an interior cavity of a housing. The housing includes apertures aligned with each other, such that a bolt is configured to be inserted through the apertures and through the interior cavity to engage the circuit board and complete an electronics circuit. When the bolt is inserted through the apertures of the housing, a locking device engages a tip region of the bolt that protrudes from the housing to secure the electronic module to the bolt. Responsive to a determination of breaking the electronics circuit, the circuit board is operable to generate a seal tamper signal. The locking element can be unlocked by a user to disengage the locking device from the bolt to permit the bolt to be removed from the electronic module and disengaged from the hasp.
A security seal includes a molded one piece body and a cover disc. The body has a cylindrical chamber for receiving the disc. A locking recess is formed in the body in communication with the chamber and defined in part by a locking shoulder. The cover is secured to the body in the chamber to enclose the locking recess. The disc is separated from the body when enclosing the chamber. A rotatable arm is attached to an extension member extending from the body via a hinge. The free end of the arm has an arrow shaped locking element attached that engages the recess locking shoulder when inserted into the recess. The locking element has a resilient tang member that is compressed by the locking shoulder and which tang member returns to its acquiescent state when fully inserted into the recess thereby locking the tang member in the recess. The cover has posts that extend through mating bores in the body, the protruding ends of the posts are deformed to preclude withdrawal of the posts from the bores to thereby lock the cover to the body.

A tamper evident seal includes a wire hasp, an insert and a body for receiving the insert and the wire hasp. The one leg of the wire hasp must be located in the channel in the insert prior to the insert being located in the body. A coupling structure for coupling the insert in the body includes angularly extending supports extending angularly outwardly upwardly from the sides of the insert for engaging indentations in the sides of the body for further preventing removal of the insert and the wire hasp once they are fully inserted in the body and in the insert, respectively. The insert of the seal further includes centrally located reinforcing extension members, each including a round base portion partially extending above base surface of the insert and a centrally located, flattened side tamper evident extension member extending from the round base portion and which extension member which will show a blemish if the insert is tampered after the seal is completed.
A tamper evident seal includes a wire hasp, an insert and a body for receiving the insert and the wire hasp. One leg of the wire hasp is received in a channel in the insert through an opening having a length slightly greater than the thickness of the wire hasp. The one leg of the wire hasp must be located in the channel in the insert prior to the insert being located in the body. A coupling structure for coupling the insert in the body includes extension tabs extending from the sides of the insert and located proximal a bottom of the insert and engagement members supported on angularly extending supports located proximal a top end of the insert and extending angularly outwardly upwardly from the sides of the insert and including teeth extending outwardly and for engaging reversely formed teeth (indentations) in the sides of the body for preventing removal of the insert and the wire hasp once they are fully inserted in the body and in the insert, respectively.
A tamper evident security seal includes a locking unit and a bolt with a groove at its shank locking portion, the groove for receiving a resilient locking ring attached to a lock body in a locking unit receiving the bolt in a locked state. The locking unit includes two housing portions one of which has a top wall, a bottom wall and a first upstanding segment of a circular cylinder side wall interconnected thereto may be of any color. The top wall has an aperture for receiving the bolt therethrough. A mating second housing portion has a second segment of a circular cylinder side wall, preferably white having ID indicia thereon, forms a circular cylindrical housing with the first housing portion and is captured between the top and bottom walls. A lock body first element is plastic and molded one piece with the second housing portion. A lock body second steel element mates with the first element forming a lock body with an annular channel in which the ring is positioned. The channel and ring generally form a conventional bolt locking arrangement. A plastic transparent cover, enclosing the two housing portions, is bonded to the bottom wall. A collar on the top wall has two slots for receiving mating anti-spin tabs on the bolt shank.
A seal housing body, extruded AL or molded plastic or metal, has cavity portions communicating through an interface region formed by one at least one frangible projection protruding from the first body into the cavity, a first cavity portion for receiving a locking body, the second cavity portion forming a shackle receiving passageway. The locking body has a channel inclined relative to and in communication with the passageway. A spring in the channel urges a shackle locking ball up the channel partially into the interface region, the ball, having a diameter sufficient to pass through the passageway, is captured in the channel by the at least one projection. The locking body has indicia and/or flanges, at one or both opposing ends, to provide tampering evidence. The channel is offset from the locking body's central plane forming a single channel side wall to preclude trapping the ball by tampering.

A watthour meter socket adapter has housing formed of snap together rear and front housings. The front housing surrounds but allows access to jaw contacts and terminals mounted in the rear housing by a watthour meter and electric power conductors. An aperture in the front housing engages a socket adapter mounting fastener extendible through the aperture to attach the socket adapter to a mounting surface. The fastener and aperture resist separation of the front housing from the rear housing when a watthour meter is removed from the socket adapter. A clip extends from the front housing through an aperture in a terminal cover attachable to the front housing and receives a seal lock member. Another clip on the front housing extends through the terminal cover and is engaged by an expandable ring lock clip. A meter surge guard is removably mountable to the rear housing and exteriorly of the front housing.
An electrical watthour meter socket includes a first sub-enclosure receiving high voltage components and a second sub-enclosure receiving lower voltage components. The first and second sub-enclosures are electrically isolated from each other access control components to allow independent access to lower voltage components in the second sub-enclosure without the use of personal protective equipment required for exposure to components carrying high voltage.

Disclosed is a reusable locking unit and a one time use electrically conductive molded thermoplastic shackle loaded with carbon black particles and having a linear resistance that is periodically monitored. The locking unit includes an integrated circuit for measuring shackle impedance through terminals capacitively coupled to the shackle. Two AC signals at two different frequencies are used to measure impedance, which is compared with an initially determined or continually generated reference impedance to determine a tampered state of the shackle. Temperature compensation is also disclosed. A time stamp is stored for noting the tampering time of occurrence. A battery may be used to operate the circuit internal components and power from the remote transceiver may operate the circuit communication portion.
