Abstract

A fluid control valve is provided, comprising a valve body configured with an inlet port extending into an inlet chamber, and an outlet port extending from an outlet chamber. The inlet and outlet chambers are partitioned by a sealing bridge. A control chamber accommodates a flexible sealing diaphragm deformable between a sealing position in which it sealingly bears over the sealing bridge and seals a fluid flow path extending between the inlet and outlet chambers, and an open position in which fluid flow along the flow path is enabled. An inlet path along the fluid flow path is longer than an outlet path therealong. An inlet radii of the sealing diaphragm is longer than an outlet radii of the sealing diaphragm.

Abstract

A PRV is provided, comprising an inlet, an outlet, and a pressure regulating system therebetween to maintain a set pressure at the outlet. The PRV further comprises a selection system configured to select between the two working pressures based on the pressure of the fluid at the inlet of the PRV, and to direct the pressure regulating system to maintain the set pressure at the outlet at the selected working pressure. The selection system comprises a pressure-motion transducer for directing the set pressure when in pressure communication with the inlet, and an auxiliary valve having an auxiliary inlet in pressure communication with the inlet and an auxiliary outlet in pressure communication with the pressure-motion transducer. The auxiliary valve is configured to establish pressure communication between its inlet and outlet when pressure in the inlet traverses a predetermined threshold.

Abstract

Auxiliary flow prevention mechanism for preventing leakage from the outlet of an air valve due to a seal malfunction of a primary stopper disposed in a primary conduit of a piping system. The mechanism includes an auxiliary conduit coupled downstream of the primary conduit. The mechanism further includes an auxiliary stopper housed within the auxiliary conduit. The auxiliary stopper is configured to seal an outlet of the auxiliary conduit when the primary stopper is in a sealing position but fails to prevent fluid outflow from an outlet of the primary conduit, whereby after sufficient fluid fills the air valve, the resultant increased fluid level urges the auxiliary stopper into a sealing position to seal an outlet of the auxiliary conduit, preventing fluid outflow therefrom. A visual indication of the seal malfunction is provided by a valve or pressure sensor that detects the presence of fluid in a downstream conduit section.
