IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO CONTINUOUS INKJET PRINTERS
The invention describes a printhead for a continuous inkjet printer in which one of the deflector plates used to deflect ink droplets is extended to overlie the gutter. The gutter, itself, is preferably subject to the same electrical potential as the other deflector plate and thus contributes to the formation of the deflection field.
The invention provides a power-up/ shut-down facility for a continuous inkjet printer which enables the printer to be readied for printing, and returned to standby, by operation of a single control.
The invention describes a detection and alert facility for stand-alone marking and coding equipment. The invention enables pre-determined messages to be e-mail to a plant operator when operator intervention is required. The facility may also send telecoms messages.
