Abstract

A plate subassembly for laying between the rails of a track system for providing a drive-on or/and accessible surface in the region of the track system comprises at least one rail connection plate (36) to be laid adjacent to a rail, wherein the at least one rail connection plate (36) has a deformation region (46) which is to be positioned directly adjacent to the rail and which can be deformed by a wheel flange of a wheel of a rail vehicle when a rail vehicle runs over the rail and returns essentially to its initial shape after said rail vehicle has run over said rail, wherein the deformation region (46) has a top region (52), providing part of the surface (40), and, below the top region (52), a bottom region (54) for supporting on a foundation (30), wherein the bottom region (54) has a multiplicity of supporting projections (58) which support the top region (52) and are to be supported on the foundation.
