Abstract

The present invention relates to a low‑tension cover layer which is intended for a laminate material and comprises a resin‑impregnated decorative paper with or without printing or a resin‑impregnated overlay paper, or a combination of the two, wherein the resin comprises in each case a mixture of at least one aminoplast and at least one water‑soluble or water‑dispersible plastics material selected from the group made up of polyvinyl resin, polyvinyl acetate and polyvinyl alcohol. The invention also relates to the use of the low‑tension cover layer according to the invention for constructing a laminate material with corresponding counter‑tension.

Abstract

The invention relates to an abrasion-resistant and scratch-resistant overlay film (10), in particular one that is to be subsequently pressed along with a support (20) in order to produce a laminate (L), comprising a paper (2) that has a synthetic resin impregnation (3), a coating (5) which is deposited on a top surface of the impregnation product (4) formed by the paper (2) and the impregnation (3) and contains a synthetic resin (6) and solid particles (7, 8), and a bottom layer (11) which is deposited on a bottom surface of the impregnation product (4) and also contains a synthetic resin (12) and solid particles (13). In order to be able to produce such a film with little technological effort and variably adjust the same to the respective requirements in terms of the resistance to scratches, scouring, and abrasion, while providing the film with processing characteristics causing little wear during the interaction with the tools used for that purpose, the solid particles (7, 8) of the coating (5) are composed of at least two different fractions; the first fraction is formed from glass beads (7), the size of which ranges from 0.8 to 250 μm, and the second fraction is formed from hard particles (8), the size of which ranges from 30 to 180 μm.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the production of an abrasion-resistant film (7, 9), particularly for the production of laminate floor materials, or abrasion-resistant surfaces of furniture, comprising the following operational steps: a first application stage (AI), in which a decorative paper (1) is provided with an impregnation (2) comprising a first synthetic resin, a second application stage (AII), in which a layer (4wet) is applied to the moist impregnate (3wet), said layer comprising a second synthetic resin and particulate abrasion-reducing material, a first treatment stage (BI), in which a heat treatment for the partial hardening of the synthetic resins and for the partial removal of the moisture from the moist, coated impregnate (5wet) is carried out, a third application stage (AIII), in which the application of a cover layer (6wet) comprising a third synthetic resin is carried out, and a final second treatment stage (BII), in which a heat treatment for removing the moisture is carried out. According to the invention, an acid-hardening amino formaldehyde resin, an isocyanate crosslinking coating system, or a mixture thereof is used as the second synthetic resin, which is applied in the second application stage (AII) to the moist impregnate (3wet), and in the final, second treatment stage (BII), complete hardening of the synthetic resin takes place. Furthermore, an abrasion-resistant finish film is claimed.
