Abstract

A pipe coupling encapsulation assembly includes an elastomeric ring including two elastomeric annular pipe interface portions that extend from two opposite axial ends of an elastomeric intermediate annular portion. The elastomeric annular pipe interface portions have a smaller annular radius than an annular radius of the elastomeric intermediate annular portion. Each of the elastomeric annular pipe interface portions and the elastomeric intermediate annular portion includes edges that face each other when the elastomeric ring is placed around a pipe. A repair coupling includes a band and opposing clamp members extending outwards from ends of the band, the elastomeric ring being radially inwards of the band.

Abstract

A pipe coupling includes two or more partially annular clamp housings, each of which includes two opposing clamp members and one or more tightening elements for tightening the clamp members towards each other in a direction transverse to an axial length of the annular clamp housings. An elastomeric seal assembly is located in seal housings at opposite axial ends of a cylindrical shell. Tightening the clamp members towards each other causes the elastomeric seal assembly to apply a radially-inward clamping force on a pipe or pipes clamped by the pipe coupling. Radial force grippers are spaced about a circumference of each of the annular clamp housings. Radially-inward forces of the radial force grippers create axially-directed forces on the pipe or pipes clamped by the pipe coupling.

Abstract

A pipe clamp assembly includes a band having an inner annular seal element wrappable around a pipe, opposing clamp members extending from the band, and tightening elements for clamping together the clamp members. The tightening elements are positioned at or near opposite ends of each of the clamp members. A stiffening element is constructed of an elongate beam with mounting holes near opposite ends of the beam. The tightening elements pass through the mounting holes of the stiffening element. There are no tightening elements along a length of the stiffening element between the mounting holes.

Abstract

A pipe coupling includes an annular clamp housing that has ends which are provided with two opposing clamp members. One or more tightening elements are provided for tightening the clamp members towards each other in a direction transverse to an axial length of the annular clamp housing so as to apply a radially-inward clamping force on a pipe being clamped in the annular clamp housing. An annular seal is mounted in the annular clamp housing. The annular clamp housing includes one or more enhanced circumferential stiffening elements.
