Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for controlling dehydration in a drum washing machine, wherein during a balance dehydration cycle for balancing the wash, before a main dehydration cycle begins in the drum washing machine, not only a rotational imbalance of the drum but also a longitudinal imbalance is sensed by repeatedly measuring the imbalance at different speeds, so that the wash is well distributed, thereby reducing the vibration of a tub during dehydration and consequently increasing the efficiency of dehydration.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for determining an imbalance in a drum washing machine. The method comprises the steps of: measuring rotation speeds by rotational sections after a rotation speed of a motor has been increased up to a target rotation speed; comparing the rotation speeds of rotational sections with an allowable range of rotation speeds; and determining whether an imbalance has occurred on the basis of the comparison. Accordingly, the method can improve accuracy for determining whether an imbalance has occurred.

The present invention relates to a method for warning about the residual quantity of a liquid detergent, and the method comprises the steps of: calculating the total amount of a liquid detergent used by accumulating the amount of the liquid detergent used whenever cleaning is performed; and comparing the total amount of the liquid detergent used with a standard amount, and warning about the residual quantity of the liquid detergent according to the compared result. Thus, by the present invention, a user does not have to frequently check the residual quantity of the liquid detergent and can easily refill the liquid detergent, and further, since the invention does not need a sensor for sensing the residual quantity of the liquid detergent, a manufacturing cost of a washing machine is reduced and it is possible to prevent the user from an electric shock by a current which leaks from a container.

Abstract

Provided are methods of recording and reading optical information in a recording medium using holography. In the method of recording optical information, a first recording operation is performed for recording optical information in a first recording region in an overlapping manner by allowing a reference beam and a signal beam with data loaded to interfere with each other in the first recording region, the reference beam being angularly multiplexed at predetermined intervals. Furthermore, a second recording operation is performed for recording optical information in a second recording region adjacent to the first recording region in an overlapping manner by allowing the reference beam and the signal beam to interfere with each other in the second recording region, the reference beam being angularly multiplexed between the predetermined intervals. Consequently, optical information can be recorded so as to easily detect and determine a selected reproducing beam, thus increasing the reading efficiency of the optical information.

Abstract

Provided are a method for detecting a pattern of an over-sampling image and an optical information processing apparatus and method using the same. A method for detecting a pattern from an image of an over-sampled datapage includes: over-sampling the datapage to detect a detection image of the datapage; comparing the detection image and a reference image of over-sampling for the pattern by a covariance; and calculating a pixel of the pattern over-sampled by values of the reference image and the detection image compared by the covariance. Accordingly, data with a specific pattern such as a mark can be detected from an image of an over-sampled datapage, thereby making it possible to increase the data reproduction accuracy, thus making it possible to greatly increase the reliability of reproduced optical data.

Abstract

Disclosed herein is a minor channel selection method for digital televisions. The method comprises storing a major channel number in response to an input of the major channel number, followed by determining whether or not the major channel number is consistently input for a first preset time; determining whether or not a minor channel number is input before an elapse of a second preset time after a complete input of the major channel number, if the major channel number is consistently input for the first preset time; and selecting a minor channel corresponding to the minor channel number, if the minor channel number is input before the elapse of the second preset time. With this method, it is possible to conveniently select a minor channel since no delimiter is needed to be inputted between major and minor channel numbers to divide them from each other.

Abstract

A method and a system for providing a file. The method of providing a file by using at least one server linked with a plurality of terminals through a network, the method includes: determining whether there exists a destination terminal which stores a requested specific video-on-demand (VOD) file by searching a database which stores a list of VOD files stored in the plurality of terminals, when a request terminal that is one of the plurality of terminals requests a specific VOD file to be transmitted; and transmitting access information of the destination terminal to the request terminal when there exists the destination terminal and transmitting the requested specific VOD file to the request terminal when there exists no destination terminal. Accordingly, a VOD content is directly transmitted among terminals under a control of a VOD server, when a VOD service is provided. Therefore, it is possible to remarkably reduce a load of the VOD server by reducing traffic which was concentrated on the VOD server in the past.

Abstract

A holographic optical information recording apparatus includes: an encoder that encodes original data in an error correcting manner by the use of a low-density parity check code and that converts data, which has been encoded in the error correcting manner by the use of the low- density parity check code, into double-sized data; a special light modulator that modulates a first beam emitted from a light source by representing the data, which has been encoded by the use of the low-density parity check code and converted into double-sized data, into a pixel array so as to record a hologram on a recording medium by allowing the first beam to overlap with a second beam emitted from the light source. When recording optical information by the use of the LDPC, it is possible to improve acquisition efficiency and accuracy of likelihood information of the LDPC by converting the data into double-sized data and then mapping the double-sized data to pixels.

Abstract

An apparatus and method for processing optical information using a low density parity check code are suggested. An optical information recording method includes the steps of encoding data to record into a low density parity check code; representing the data, which is encoded into the low density parity check code, to a spatial light modulator in the unit of a data page; and modulating a recording beam into the data page representing the spatial light modulator to be recorded in the form of hologram in a recording medium. By blocking inexact probability information from being concentrated in the LDPC code block, by achieving exact probability information through effective allocation of a mark, and by improving average accuracy of the pixel, which corresponds to the LDPC code, failure rate of decoding can be minimized so that decoding performance can be improved.
