Abstract
Described is a device for locking a rim of a wheel to a wheel-holder unit (4) equipped with a supporting plate (12) and a hollow rotary shaft having an end portion projecting in a cantilever fashion from the supporting plate (12) comprising: a centring cone (16) having a through hole; a clamping rod (11) having at a first end a clamping element (10) which can be inserted inside the hollow shaft to prevent a movement of the clamping rod (11) along a first axis (A) of the wheel-holder unit (4), and having at a second end a threaded portion; a clamping element (17) coupled to the threaded portion and which can be rotated for translating along an axis of the clamping rod; a centring flange (23) operatively interposed between the centring cone (16) and the clamping element (17) and having a central through hole, a first face and a second face from which two or more centring rods (23b) project in a cantilever fashion which can be inserted into corresponding radial openings of the rim. The first end of the clamping rod (11) is operatively inserted in the hole of the centring flange (23), with the same direction as that in which the centring rods (23b) project, and in the hole of the centring cone (16), with the opposite direction to that along which the centring cone (16) is tapered.

Abstract
An apparatus (1) for diagnostic assessment of the set-up of a vehicle (2) comprises: two contact tracks (6) for tyres (4) of the vehicle (2) having two stretches adjacent to corresponding optical measuring devices (11), for detecting image information of a pair of front wheels (3) of the vehicle (2) resting on said stretches of the tracks (6) in a first operating position of the vehicle (2); a processing unit (18) programmed to process the image information and calculate a position in space of the front wheels (3) of the vehicle. The processing unit (18) implements a model of operation of a vehicle on the road, and is programmed to calculate: (i) an ideal trajectory of the vehicle (2) being assessed, depending on a type of vehicle set, the position of the front wheels (3) and the model; (ii) an actual trajectory followed by the vehicle (2) being assessed during a movement from the first operating position to a second operating position, in which the rear wheels (3) of the vehicle (2) rest on said stretches of the tracks (6), depending on the type of vehicle, the position detected for the front wheels (3) and further image information taken by a further optical measuring device (21) relating to at least one predetermined portion of the vehicle (2) and detected at least when it is in the second operating position. The processing unit (18) is programmed to derive diagnostic indications, depending on a deviation of said actual trajectory relative to said ideal trajectory.

Abstract
A method and a machine for removing a tyre (100) from a rim (101) using a demounting tool (7) which is mobile on a support body (5, 51) between a first operating position and a second operating position, to which operating positions correspond different inclinations of the demounting tool (7) with respect to an axis (A) of the rim (101); the method including a stage of inserting the demounting tool (7), which is in the first operating position, between a side of the tyre (100) and an edge of the rim (101), and subsequently moving the demounting tool (7) from the first operating position to the second operating position, by means of a movement of the support body (5, 51) towards the axis (A) of the rim (101), such that the edge of the rim (101) pushes the demounting tool (7) towards the second operating position.
