Abstract

A method for testing computing hardware detects the current time as being within a predetermined time period and transfers virtual machines (VMs) from a plurality of physical machines to other physical machines as targets according to a load balancing strategy. The load balancing strategy sums of a load ratio of one physical machine including the VM and a load ratio of one physical machine as a target for the transfer; if the sum of the two ratios is less than a preset load ratio, the VM-transferring physical machine is put into a standby state when the transfer takes place as long as the current time is still inside the predetermined time period. Physical machines which are in the standby state and have not been tested are awoken, and the awoken physical machines are connected to the server for testing.

Abstract

A management method for a cloud server for managing IP addresses hostnames, network topology mapping and task synchronization of cloud hosts. The cloud server assigns a temporary IP addresses to host for performing a system boot up and installation task upon a host starting to perform a system boot up and installation task. As the system boot up and the installation task at the host proceeds to a stage, the cloud server receives requests from hosts via a DNS inquiry instruction, and replying the mapping table of a hostnames and a fixed IP addresses to the host via a DNS answer.

Abstract

A method for connecting virtual machines in a cloud system is disclosed, wherein an agent network management service (Network management service, ANMS) process is used for communicating with all switches in the cloud system. When a virtual machine (VM) is created on one of the physical host in the cloud system, the ANMS detects the creation of the new VM, and confirms the virtual local area network (VLAN) the new VM pertained to. Next, determine a nearest boundary point from the new VM in the same VLAN for confirming a shortest connecting route. Lastly, the ANMS informing all switches in the shortest connecting route to set up internal VLAN tags such that new VM establish connection with other VMs in the same VLAN via the shortest connecting route.

Abstract

A method of triggering a computational procedure for virtual machine migration includes receiving by a cloud server, reply connection data from a client end host, and determining if the computational procedure for virtual machine migration is initiated according to the reply connection data. The virtual machine migration is performed upon completion of the computational procedure. A browser intercepts the reply connection data to reply to the cloud server when the client end host accesses a web page via the browser. The reply connection data from the client end host is used for determining whether the computational procedure is initiated or not so as to lower a cloud server computation load by reducing the computational procedures performed.

Abstract

An IP address assigning method is provided. Firstly, an IP address request packet containing a media access control address is transmitted to a DHCP server. The IP address request packet is analyzed, so that the media access control address is acquired. Then, at least one address forwarding table of at least one network switch is acquired. Then, the address forwarding table is analyzed according to the media access control address, so that an assigned number of a port of the network switch is acquired. Then, a predetermined IP address listed in an IP address assigning table is assigned to the network device according to the assigned number of the port of the network switch. Afterwards, the media access control address and/or the assigned IP address is recorded in a field of the IP address assigning table corresponding to the assigned number of the port of the network switch.

Abstract

A method provides an exhibition guide using an electronic device. The method obtains exhibit information of a plurality of exhibits in a preselected exhibition from a remote computer, obtains location coordinates of the electronic device, calculates a distance between each exhibit and the electronic device, and determines one or more exhibits which are adjacent to the electronic device. The method further obtains an indicating direction of the electronic device, compares the indicating direction of the electronic device with a display direction of each adjacent exhibit to obtain a matched exhibit, and plays commentary of the matched exhibit on the electronic device.

Abstract

A collision avoidance system and method creates 3D models of objects by collecting character data of the objects, and controls a camera of a vehicle to capture an image in front of the vehicle. The system determines whether an object is detected in front of the vehicle by comparing the image with each of the 3D models, analyzes a distance between the camera and the object according to the image, and determines whether the distance is less than a safety distance. The system controls the warning device to alarm when the distance is less than the safety distance, and automatically controls the brake system to reduce a speed of the vehicle if the vehicle is not decelerating.

Abstract

A camera adjusting system includes a first camera, a second camera, and a control apparatus. The first camera is movably arranged on a sliding rail to monitor a locale. The second camera captures a three dimensional (3D) image of a head of a subject. The control apparatus receives the captured 3D image of the head of the subject and simulates a corresponding 3D model according to the captured 3D image, and compares the actual 3D model with a reference 3D model, to compute a compared result, and outputs a control signal to the first camera to adjust parameters of the first camera according to the compared result.

Abstract

A rotational vibration test system and method of a storage system set storage devices of the storage system, fan speeds of an electric fan of the storage system, and access patterns of the storage system. The electric fan is controlled to run at the fan speeds. The storage system is accessed according to the access patterns. Accordingly, the storage devices are input/output performance tested. Test results of the storage devices are output to an output device.

Abstract

A supporting device includes a tray, a plurality of wheel assemblies, a handle, and a handgrip. The tray is configured for supporting a payload. The wheel assemblies are secured to the tray, and each wheel assembly includes a wheel. Each wheel is capable of rotating about a first axis. The wheel assemblies are rotatable between a first position and a second position, and a distance between each wheel and the tray in the first position is smaller than a distance between each wheel and the tray in the second position. The handle is attached to the tray and configured to urge the wheel assemblies to rotate from the first position to the second position. The handgrip is attached to the tray and configured to urge the wheel assemblies to rotate from the second position to the first position.

Abstract

A reversing transmission includes a shaft, a retainer, a spacing collar, reversing members, two gears and two covers. The holder is sleeved on the shaft with spaced sliding notches formed thereon. The spacing collar is mounted on an outer surface of the retainer. The reversing members each include two spaced swing plates, with two reversed spiral teeth dented on two diagonal half surfaces of the two spaced swing plates. The reversing members slide into the sliding notches of the holder, with the two swing plates of each reversing member distributed at different sides of the spacing collar. Each of the gears has a group of spiral teeth formed on the inner side for engaging with the group of spiral teeth of the reversing members, and cogs formed on the outer circumference surface. The covers are mounted on two opposite ends of the holder to keep the reversing members in position.

Abstract

A method for testing a characteristic impedance of a signal path routing of a printed circuit board (PCB) controls the test device to test a characteristic impedance of the signal path routing of the PCB to get test data of the signal path routing of the PCB. The method further analyzes the test data of the signal path routing of the PCB get analysis results, generate a test report for storing the test data of each signal path routing of the PCB and the analysis results if all signal path routings of the PCB have been tested.
