Abstract

A power supply apparatus is proposed for use with a load of the type that requires an initial instant large current for quick startup, such as the startup motor for an automobile engine. The proposed power supply apparatus is characterized in that a battery unit is jointly used with a supercapacitor for preforming a joint battery-supercapacitor discharging process, whereby when the load is being started, a switch unit such as a relay is turned to ON state to allow the battery unit and the supercapacitor to concurrently supply power with an initial instant large current such that the load can be quickly started. In the application on automobiles, the proposed power supply apparatus can replace traditional lead-acid batteries for supplying power to the startup motor of the automobile engine, thus allowing the startup motor to produce a more powerful and rapid accelerating force for quick startup of the automobile engine.

Abstract

A power supply apparatus is proposed, which uses a battery unit integrally combined with a supercapacitor for supplying power to a load of the type that requires an initial instant large current for quick startup, such as the engine startup motor of an automobile. In operation, the invention uses both the battery unit and the supercapacitor to supply power to the load, characterized in that the supplied power contains an initial instant large current for quick startup of the load. When recharging is required, an external recharging power unit can be used to recharge both the battery unit and the supercapacitor. In the application on automobiles, the invention can replace traditional lead-acid batteries for supplying power with an initial instant large current to the engine startup motor of the automobile, thereby allowing the startup motor to produce a more powerful and rapid accelerating force for quick engine startup.

A method and apparatus is proposed for controlling the electrical connection and disconnection between a battery unit and a supercapacitor on an automobile with the objective of preventing the electrical connection between the battery unit and the supercapacitor from being exceedingly long that would otherwise cause degraded power supply performance or even damage to the battery unit due to the self-discharging property of the supercapacitor. This feature can help to improve the power supply performance and extends the battery life. To prevent breakage of the segment of an enameled wire that extends between a pin and a winding groove on an insulating stator base, a tension servo of an automatic wire-winding machine in controlled to first wind the enameled wire tightly around the pin of the insulating stator base and then to loosely wind the enameled wire around the pin to form at least one loose winding with a gap between the enameled wire and the pin. The present invention relates to an electroplating method in the manufacture of the surface mount precision metal resistor, the manufacturing steps are as below: a flat-shaped metal substrate strip being die stamped with predefined resistance value; separating said metal substrate strip into electroplating portion and non-electroplating portion by the separating insulator; removing the impurities on the surface of said electroplating portion by the electrolytic cleansing; insetting all flat-shaped metal substrate strips onto the vertical rotating bucket for electroplating to form two copper electrode terminals; removing off the separating insulator on said non-electroplating portion; grinding and surface roughness process on both of the upper and lower surfaces of said two copper electrode terminals; die stamping and cutting said electroplated metal substrate strip into metal resistor chip one by one; wrapping said non-electroplating portion on each said metal resistor chip with packaging layer; and roller-electroplating with tin-layer on the surfaces of said two copper electrode terminals at each said packaged metal resistor chip, thus the final product of the surface mount precision metal resistor having been completely manufactured.
