Abstract

An apparatus and method for lifting a bed and/or mattress between a first in-use position and a second raised storage position. The apparatus includes at least one support means on which said bed and/or mattress is located in use and at least one substantially upright recess or channel means, within which one or more portions of the support means are located. The inner and/or outer surfaces of the at least one recess or channel means are used to maintain the support means in a substantially horizontal orientation when at, and/or moving between, the first and second positions.
