Abstract
The present invention provides an in vitro method for determining the X chromosome reactivation (X-Ra) level of a female subject, the method comprising the steps of (a) determining the methylation status of at least 10 CpG sites of Table 1 in a DNA-containing sample from the female subject; and (b) calculating the fraction of the CpG sites analyzed in step (a) that are hypomethylated. The invention also provides in vitro methods for determining the biological age of a female subject, diagnosis and/or prognosis of an age-related disease or disorder or an infection, and for determining the gestational age of a fetus.

Abstract
Bis(aminostyrylpyridinium) compounds of formula (I) and pharmaceutical acceptable salts thereof for use as a medicament. Additionally, multiple novel bis(aminostyrylpyridinium) compounds of formula (I) are provided. Specifically, compounds of formula (I) and compositions for use in the treatment of a disease whose etiology is based on protein aggregation. Particularly, compounds are useful in the treatment, prevention or amelioration of malaria, or symptoms, complications and/or sequelae thereof.

Abstract
The present invention relates to cyclic peptides of a particular formula (I), X1X2X3X4CX6X7X8PX10X11X12X13CX15X16X17P (SEQ ID NO: 1) (I), fwherein X1 to X17 take several meanings, and X1 and D-Pro at position 18 are linked by a peptide bond; which cyclic peptides are useful as antimicrobial agents. The invention also relates to particular bicyclic compounds, in which cysteines at positions 5 and 14 are crosslinked by a disulfide bond. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the said peptides and to the medical applications of the peptides or of the compositions comprising them.

Abstract
A gold(III) complex, a conjugate of the gold(iII) complex, a pharmaceutical composition comprising the gold(III) complex and uses and a process for preparing the gold(III) complex. The complex comprises a group of (S{circumflex over ( )}C)-cyclometallated gold(III) complexes containing a 1,1-dithio ligand, which exhibit antibacterial activity against multiresistant microorganisms or against biofilm activity or biofilm disruption. The gold(III) complex has efficacy against a variety of microorganisms and low toxicity.
