Abstract

The application relates to a method for producing an underground water store. This method makes provision that, in suitable rock stratifications consisting of an upper layer of a porous material (A), a central layer consisting of soluble material (B) and an underlying third layer consisting of impermeable material (C), an environmentally compatible solvent is used to remove rock material from the central layer and thus to create a cavity. This cavity sinks in or is caused to sink in in a targeted manner. The resulting sinkhole filled with porous material from the upper layer serves for the collection of water. The water can then be discharged from the sinkhole by means of a removal pipe.
