Abstract

The invention relates to a slide ring seal arrangement having a slide ring element (1) of an interacting slide ring pair, which slide ring element (1) is held movably relative to a mounting component (2); a secondary seal element (5) made from a flexible material for sealing an annular gap between the mounting component and the slide ring element; a support ring element (12) which is arranged between the secondary seal element and the slide ring element for preventing material of the secondary seal element from penetrating into the annular gap under external forces which act on the secondary seal element; and a prestressing device for loading the slide ring element with an axial prestressing force. The invention is characterized by a film-like intermediate layer (13) between at least one pair of adjacent ring elements (1, 10, 12) which comprise at least the slide ring element and the support ring element and via which the prestressing force of the prestressing device can be transmitted to the slide ring element.

Abstract

A method and a device are disclosed for determining the current operating state of a slide ring seal comprising at least one pair of cooperating slide rings with facing sliding surfaces which delimit a sealing gap therebetween. One of the slide rings rotates along with a rotating part while the other slide ring is mounted on a stationary part so as to be secured against rotation along with the rotating part. According to the invention, the heat flow between at least two spaced-apart selected measurement points M1, M2, M3, M4 is measured on one of the slide rings, particularly the slide ring (3) secured against rotation, by sensing the current temperature at the selected measurement points and determining the current temperature gradient between the selected measurement points from the sensed temperatures for further evaluation purposes. The current temperature gradients indicate the circumstances in which a temperature has changed at the measurement points, e.g. because there is no lubricant on the sliding surface (4) or the temperature of the medium to be sealed has changed.

Abstract

The invention relates to a flow stop valve for opening and closing a fluid connection between a first and a second space, particularly the blocking fluid chamber of a slip ring sealing arrangement acted upon by a blocking fluid and a space outside of the blocking fluid chamber, having a housing (1), a fluid flow passage (2) in the housing, a first valve seat (11) on the fluid flow passage, and a closing element (6) axially displaceably disposed in the fluid flow passage and pretensioned in a first position in a sealing relationship with the first valve seat by a pretensioning force and moveable against the pretensioning force into a second position, clearing the fluid flow passage. An actuating element (16) that can be engaged with the closing element (6) and can be subjected to the fluid in the first space is designed in order to exercise an axial force on the closing element in the direction of the second position thereof under the influence of a temperature change of the fluid, in order to move the closing element into the second position against the pretensioning force when a specified fluid temperature is exceeded, the closing element being relieved of fluid pressure in the first and second positions.

Abstract

The invention relates to a sliding ring of a slide ring sealing arrangement, comprising a base body (10, 11) made of a carbide material. A wear-resistant coating (8, 9), made of a diamond material, is embodied on one of the front surfaces of the base body, said diamond material having a sliding surface (6, 7). At least the surface areas of the base body (10, 11), which are exposed to the medium which is to be sealed during operation, are hermetically sealed in one layer (8, 9, 12, 13) made of a diamond material having a layer thickness and/or configuration creating a layer that is impermeable to fluid. The properties of the diamond layer and/or the diamond material on the areas of the base body, which do not correspond to the sliding surface (6, 7), can be the same or different on the sliding surface side of the diamond layer (8, 9).

Abstract

The invention relates to a pump arrangement for feeding a liquid product having a pump (2) with a suction connection and a pressure connection and with a double-acting sliding ring sealing arrangement with a sealing fluid water seal for sealing off a pump driveshaft (3), wherein a sealing fluid space of the sliding ring sealing arrangement has an inlet via which some of the product fed by the pump can be introduced into the sealing fluid space in order to form the sealing fluid water seal. Here, the fed product is guided from the pressure connection of the pump (2) via a direct connection (5, 8) to the inlet of the sealing fluid space. The sealing fluid space has no outlet for the fed product. According to one preferred application of the invention, the sealing fluid water seal can be formed from the extracted part of an aqueous pulp solution in the paper industry after said aqueous pulp solution has been filtered, so that the sealing fluid space can be filled only with the water component of the pulp solution.

Abstract

A slide ring seal arrangement comprises a rotationally fixed slide ring (4) and a slide ring (11), which is provided for rotating together with a rotating component, these slide rings each being held in a loose seat and interacting, in, in essence, radially oriented sealing surfaces, which are prestressed with a main prestressing force while in contact with one another. Each slide ring, on its front face that faces away from the sealing surface, is axially supported on a supporting part (14, 17) via an annular bearing surface (16, 20) provided between the respective supporting part and the adjacent front face of the respective slide ring. A load ratio (d12-dH2) / (d12-d22) of = 2.0, preferably between 0.8 and 2.0, preferably no greater than between 1.0 and 1.5, more preferably approximately 1.3 is maintained on the bearing surface (16, 20). The measurement (d1-d2) of each bearing surface (16, 20) is equal to = 10 mm, preferably between 0.2 and 2.0, preferably no more than approximately 0.6 mm.

Abstract

Arrangement for mounting a flow pipe (2) in a pipe passage opening in a wall (1) of a container or the like, it being possible to supply the flow pipe with a first flow medium and the container with a second flow medium. The arrangement comprises a pipe connection sleeve (3) which fits through the pipe passage opening and is held therein in a sealed manner, this sleeve having a through bore (5) with a bore region (6) facing the inside of the container and in which an end section (7) of the flow pipe is received and held. At an intermediate point of the one bore region (6), a collecting aperture (9) connected to a drainage passage (10) is provided in the peripheral wall of the through bore (5) to collect any leakage of the flow media along the pipe end section (7). The invention allows continuous assessment of the sealing state of the connection between the flow pipe and sleeve over the entire operating period of the respective installation and an assessment of the quality of the connection at the time it is established.
