The layer of the second material may comprise a plurality of holes and may be disposed between the layers of the first material. The composite-material may further include a series of bonding regions extending, from one layer of the first material to the other layer of the first material, through the plurality of holes of the layer of the second material. The bonding regions may seal the holes of the layer of the second material such as to form an impenetrable composite-material layer even when the layers of the first material are not impermeable. The bonding regions may cause the layers to attach to each other. The composite-material may be used to make a sterile sleeve of the portable surgical system.

Abstract

Systems and methods for verifying the certifications and the authenticity of commercial products is disclosed. The system receives photos of the commercial product and the labels displayed on the product. The system performs image recognition on the labels and extracts the certification marks on the product. The system accesses a certification-database and verifies if proper certifications exist for the product. The systems include a product registration system where manufacturers registered their products by uploading photos of the products and their labels. Registered-product-records are formed for each registered product and are rendered immutable via a blockchain. A user investigates if a product in the stream of commerce is an authentic product by uploading photos of the product on the registration system. The information extracted from the photos is compared with the information in the corresponding registered-product-record. Geolocation information of the investigated products is acquired. An authenticity status is determined for the investigated product.

The enclosure is attached reversibly to the patient's body encompassing the surgical site such as to isolate and regulate the immediate environment of the surgical site, and to reduce bodily fluid splatters from the surgical site to the surgical providers. The enclosure includes an environmental control system configured to actively monitor and control the environment inside the enclosure such as to create and maintain essentially sterile conditions. The surgical systems can be used both for surgeries on a torso of a patient and on surgeries on arms or legs. The portable surgical system is lightweight and portable and can be used in conventional operating rooms to improve sterility, or in other circumstances where no operating room is available, such as field hospitals and for on the field surgeries.

Abstract

A portable surgical system including a sterile enclosure and one or more sterile sleeves made of a composite-material are disclosed. The sterile sleeves allow for comfortable, user friendly, inexpensive, and effective ways for safely interacting with a sterile environment. The composite-material may include two or more material layers attached to each other. Some of the material layers of the composite material are chosen for their comfort and ease of use whereas the others may be chosen for their impermeability. The composite-material may be impermeable to a set of gases, fluids and substances such as blood, plasma, bacteria, viruses, dust particles, water, human and animal cells, and organic matter.

Abstract

The invention discloses inflatable-containers, also named utilitarian task-based containers, that essentially include a set of prepacked materials, ingredients, devices, tools, and/or instruments which could be used for performing a group of related actions, such as: preparing medical materials and equipment which could be used during an in-the-field medical interventions and surgeries performed via portable surgical systems. The containers may include inward and/or outward protuberances shaped as gloves with sleeves, fingers, and handlers to allow manipulations as necessary for the predefined task. The inflatable-containers may be transparent so that an user can see within the interior of the container. The containers may be designed to for single use or for repeated uses. The inflatable-containers may be self-inflating.

Abstract

Portable surgical systems for regulating intra-operative environments over surgical sites are disclosed. The surgical systems include a flexible surgical enclosure configured to be attached to the surgical site of a patient. The enclosure enables operators to perform surgery on the surgical site from inside the enclosure. The enclosure may further include a patient-limb-port configured to enable the patient to insert an arm or a leg into the enclosure so that a limb- surgical-site is disposed inside the enclosure. The surgical system may further include an active environment control unit with one or multiple sensors. The surgical system prevents outer environment contaminants from reaching the surgical site while providing a barrier protecting operators from exposure to blood generated during the surgery. The portable surgical system is used to perform surgery in environments other than operating rooms, such as outdoors, in tents, in cottages, and non-sterile rooms.
